FYI
Safeway has been putting clearence stickers on stuff about to expire for a while now but I noticed recently they have changed them to 50% off
If the item with the sticker is on sale the cash register automatically takes half off the sale price got some awesome deals lately
just wanted to let anyone know who doesn't alreadyThis thread is currently associated with: Safeway

I have used coupons in addition to Safeway and Calgaqry Co Op reduced sticker items.
Last one was for Astro BioBest 4 pak of yougart drinks......
after all was said and done, each little bottle of drink only cost me:
.25c each.......whoot!!!
I bought 4, then went back to get another 2, and gave the cashier a 1.00 cpn to use on the sale item as well.

Safeway has both 30% and 50% clearance items in the meat and dairy depts and they do accept a coupon with them as well.

Is there certain days that they do this? Do they have a "Clearance" section, or is it throughout the store?

I believe just throughout the store when items are close to expiring.

I was expecting to come in to read something about how the stickers are easy to peel off and put on other things...

I had some friends a while back that swore by this at Value Village. I shook my finger at them a few times.
But back to cheap meat! I wonder if I could score a few pork butt roasts this way, DW and I are on a pulled pork kick lately.

I have to say though. Watch the sticker price! We were there last week looking at some clearance yogurt. The regular priced ones were on for $5.xx something and then I seen the same thing in the clearance section with a 50% off sticker BUT it also said reg. price was $6.xx so i didnt end up getting it because i wasnt in to mood to fight with a cashier (and we didnt need it) but i thought it was strange that the reg. price on shelf was on thing and the reg. price on the clearance sticker said something else.

The clearance stickers will always say 50% off the regular price, but if that item is on special that week, you will get the club card price. For example: I found Grill Ems for 50% off and the sticker said $6.59. They were actually $4.79 so I got them for $2.40 - $1 from websaver = $1.40.

They have a clearance section in each area. There is one by the bacon/deli meats, one by seafood, one by packaged meat and one in the dairy case. They have special dividers for them that say clearance sale in red lettering on a yellow background. (at least here in Regina
