Not sure where to post this..
but I am going away for maybe 2-3 weeks...
I wanted suggestions as to what to do with my mail box when I am gone...
my mail box isnt that big... I dont want mail to go missing...
in the past i wasnt ordering this many freebies and so on... but now i am more into couponing/freebies/samples...
I dont know what to do!!!
What do you guys do when your gone away for a week or 2?!

I sometimes ask neighbor to collect it for me. Or maybe contact CP and see if they will do a hold for you.
How is it delivered? If in a large mailbox with multiple people, then leave it. If mailed directly to your home, get a neighbour to collect.

we have individual mail boxes for each apt.. and it has a key.. u gotta go n get it...

We always just give a neighbour our key - so when they pick up their mail they pick up ours as well
I would recommend having your mail held - but start it a few days before you leave as it takes time to process ... also have someone check your mailbox every few days, as some mail may get through the temporary hold.
get it fwded to me?? I would take loving care of all coupons and freebies :)
when i go on vacay i get a family member to come over and feed my cats so id just give them the mail key as well to pick up when they come to feed the cats :)
Even if its a large mailbox with multiple people ( community mail box with individual keys ) ..you will be surprised how quickly that box fills up ..especially with all the junk mail , ads , brochures etc that CP delivers .Quote:

If the box is full irrespective of whether you have a key to it or not ..CP will generally just return the mail to the sender or in worse case scenario just throw it away .
I live in a house ..& we have one of those super mail boxes for about 36 people ( houses ) who live on my street ..I have actually seen mail on the ground near the super mail box:yikes: as some of the residents are too lazy to empty their box ..as you have to walk from your house to that super mail box ( about 75 metres ) & they don't even want to do that :shock:
I generally find that if I don't empty my mail box every 3 days or so it gets full ..90 % of which is junk mail :lolsign:

I saw somebody say the junkmail takes up 90%. If you want to have more room for mail and freebies tape a note that says "no junkmail pls" to your mailbox. My maillady said that is okay to do, but put it on the inside as they can not read it on the outside as the whole mailbox door opens at one.
