*sigh*....
this is why most stores HATE accepting coupons. People go too far.

Wow, you people are so friendly here.

Oh, and by the way, just a reminder:
If you attack another member, if you make fun of a member, if you attack deals braggers, if you're sarcastic in a negative way, if you're rude or if you argue and cause trouble you will be banned period.Last edited by Gamerfaith; Thu, Jul 21st, 2011 at 11:50 PM.

Let's not go crazy people...I don't think anyone was trying to make fun of you or attack you, I think she was simply trying to inform you that what you did was wrong and yes I will say it, I agree and this is why...please remember you can't interpret tone in an email etc.
#1 you did something you knew was wrong (its one thing to say you didn't realize and it was an honest mistake)
#2 you don't see anything wrong with it
#3 you bragged about it on a site where tonnes of couponers new and veterans read ( you are bound to upset people)
#4 you need to own your mistake
Imagine if lets say 20 other people did this at the same store, do you realize when the store goes to claim the amount for the coupons and not get reimbursed what could happen? And if it keeps happening? Ignorance of the cashier is not an excuse. Yes the cashier should have read the coupon, but this is what annoys me most when I go to use coupons and I don't feel trusted...I don't like when I have spent a lot of time planning a shopping trip and then have to sit and wait for a cashier to read over the coupons over and over again because she got "burned" before from a dishonest consumer. It makes couponing difficult for everyone else and perhaps some stores may eventually decide not to take coupons? Who knows?
All I know is that if we are using coupons you need to stick to the rules and use them what they are intended for...that's all, this is not an attack and perhaps you end up getting a hard time for this because you posted it here and left yourself open to it. People do have a right to express their opinions in a nice way and that is what I have tried to do. So I hope you take this for what is intended, a lesson to use coupons properly. : ) Happy couponing everyone!

For those who are new to couponing there is always a better deal around the corner. Last year PG came out with awesome deodorant coupoons and I'm set with Secret full size deodorants for a while. The Dollarama Dove deodorants are trial size, even if they don't say trial size on the bottle it is obvious when you compare one to a ful size Dove deodorant. I have the Dove coupons and I have walked past these minis in Dollarama because it is misuse of the coupon. They now have John Frieda Brunette at my Dollarama for $2, now my coupon says buy 2 save $5 now not sure if I can use that as well.

Shouldn't this not-so-good brag be in the brags section?

Yeah... you have to be careful with the coupons.
Even without the Dove, you still got a lot of great deals and you should be proud of it.
You also shouldn't get so defensive when you got called out for doing something you knew was wrong. The one thing I've learned is that couponers are grateful for the limited amount coupons we get in Canada and are fiercely protective because they know that a store will change a policy in a snap.
As avid couponers we have a responsibility to show others our successes without having to resort to being sneaky. If you time things right, you should never have to do that.
That's my two cents on this. So yeah, you got called out, put on your big girl panties, suck it up and move on. You're doing well with maximizing the return on your coupons, I would love to see what you dig up next!

Hey, I didn't come on here bragging that I ripped off Dollarama - I didn't even post what coupons I used. I just posted my deals. Someone asked me what coupon I used to get the dove products and I told her what coupon I used and that she might not get the same deal because the coupon did say full size coupons.
But you all make it like I set up to brag about my bad coupon passing here which I didn't. I'm not sorry I got a deal on my products because others on this forum do the same - just look at the Dollarama thread. I can recall reading at least 2 or 3 other members that used the same coupon to buy Dove products at Dollarama. Why aren't you over there attacking those members?
Also the cashier had a supervisor there looking at the coupons and she didn't say no either, so as far as I'm concerned I didn't do anything wrong. If two people looked at the coupon and took it without issue, then obviously the products were okay for the coupon in their minds. And no one's going to change my mind on the situation.
Now please move on with your day. There are new flyers out, coupons to use, deal to be had. So please stop picking apart mine.
