Slowly I've been trying to use up the many many dried beans and lentils I have in my storage drawer. Other than an occasional batch of chili for the guys and/or a cold bean salad ( which I love more than they do ) often they just sit there. I learned that I could freeze the cooked beans, so now when the mood strikes me to make something I'm not stalled by the overnight soak.
Today though, I did a quick soak and cooked chickpeas ( all in the time was 1 hr. 10 minutes ), drained and towel dried them, sprayed with EVOO and sprinkled a blend of dry spices all over them. ( cayenne, garlic and onion powder, 21 Seasoning Salute, Hungarian paprika and a tiny bit of salt ). Into the Air fryer, a few tosses every 10 minutes to have them turn crunchy evenly. I'll be enjoying these as a snack once I'm done with this sardine fast on Friday.
