Wonderlist.ca / Toronto Star called this morning and I won 2 seats in Star executive box with food and drinks to see Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy at the ACC on Friday Jan 8th. There were 5 winners in total. Value $225, great win to start off the year. http://www..ca/PHPBB2/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif Guess we'll have a gutfull of laughs that night.

I learned a valuable lesson this week regarding winning that I want to share with everyone here. Back in November I was notified by LCBO that I had won a prize pack, so yeah horray and all that. I filled out the release and faxed it within the time frame requested. I waited, and waited, and waited...no prize delivery:icon_scratch:I assumed it would be 4 to 6 weeks. I had kept the email notifying me of the win so I emailed the coordinator of the contest earlier this week and her response was that they had not recieved the fax therefore no prize was sent out to me. :eek:I convinced them that I had sent it and they allowed me to resend another faxed release within a day so all is well and I will get the prize but from here on in no matter how big or small the win I am going to request a confirmation of receipt of the release directly from the person it is being sent to. Just thought I would share and hopefully this never happens to any of my fellow SC's!:-)

Ugh! I feel you pain! Glad they are going to still honor the prize- Much worse to "un-win" then to not win at all!

Good of you to remind people. I would think though, that you should have kept the receipt of the fax which was sent when you did it - isn't there always the little sheet you get saying it was sent and received? (sorry, it's been a while since I sent a fax, but I always used to get a receipt).

That was exactly why she was allowed me to resend it - I had my receipt of the time and day I sent the original copy. It was recieved by her general office fax but for what ever reason it did not make it to her desk! Emails are so much better, dontcha all think?!?!
