My hubby just got a call from CTV and he won 4 tickets to the Princess Disney on Ice and 4 Monster Jam tickets with a pre show pit party at the John Labatt Centre here in London. I am so excited as I was feeling down this morning watching the tv ads for the Disney on Ice as I wanted to go to that so bad. Every year the Disney on Ice comes to London I want to go but really can't afford that extra luxury so I am so so so happy about this win.

My mother was a runner up in Maples Pictures Corp facebook fan contest "Are you a kick-ass hero?"

I entered the contest for myself but as I sat there I realized that she IS a kickass hero, I told her about the contest and showed her.. she read everyone's comments for their entries and believed she wasn't 'worth' winning like them.... She told me to forget about it.

After she went to work I logged into her facebook account and wrote up why she's kickass! She won planet hulk dvd. I'm going to show her what I wrote tonight.

As I've stated before, I merely stand back in life and observe people and this is what I wrote:

I am KICK-ASS because I'm always over coming life's hiccups to come out ontop. I was told I was "too stupid" for college at 43 and graduate 3 years later a Registered Nurse at the top of my class. Not 6 years later I'm second in charge at a nursing home, and very well respected amongst my co-workers and patients.

Working with the elderly is not easy by ANY means, it may not be "exciting" as working in a hospital but it is a challenge; one I relish. But it's also difficult in that we become friends with these "patients" knowing that they will die one day. We watch them slowly deteiorate from whatever disease inhabits them and cry/miss them when they are dead.

But I never show when i'm angry or upset; I'll just smile and continue with my work....

For that, my daughter, family and friends believe I'm kick ass.

I got a DVD delivered by FedEx from LG- a collection of short films from the film festival. Not sure which contest it's from but it will be nice to watch sometime I am sure!

It can either be an email, a phone call or sometimes a small win will just show up. Most smaller item winners usually are notified by email and the larger ones most times are a phone call. For the tickets my hubby just won he got a phone call from CTV telling him he won.
Good luck with your contesting and be patient. LOL sometimes that is very hard to do.

OMG!! I haven't been able to pamper myself for so many years because of my financial situation, so this is the most amazing thing ever!

As for the trip, I already live in Toronto. Has anyone had a similar experience with this where part of their prize includes a trip to the area where they reside in? Will I still get to stay in a hotel here?
