So can anyone use these or do you have to be a student?

The web site, says that the SPC VIP is not available this year. It looks like for students only to me.

It's $11 with shipping and a useless $10 savings card that I will never use and expires end of year.
I ordered the LouLou subscription with free SPC card for $17 including tax.
So for $6 more, we get something useful.
Now DD has to take me shopping instead of me taking her shopping, lol.

I preordered for my daughter for $9 and she got a $10 GC at Jean Machine, expires Jan 2012. I think LouLou is a terrible magazine and would not pay an additional $6 for it lol I'm excited that Old Navy is a part of this now! 10% adds up over the course of a year!

Yes, LouLou magazine is a terrible mag, but they do have FPCs and samples in there. I remember one year there was a coupon for a free silver change purse at I think Aldo, this year was free Bath & Body Works, free Davids Tea, all shade samples of Maybelline Fit Me, you can't find all shades in store. DD found her exact shade.
I'm just happy Zellers is part of it.

Do they really ask to see a student card? Want to take advantage of the savings but don't have a full time student card.

Is there a free night course at a high school or community college that you can take? Then you will get a student ID card.
Or maybe take a cake decorating class, painting class, etc at a local community centre and get a student ID card.
A student is a student if you are attending classes.
I have a community centre card but never used it because I've always had the VIP card. And I've taken painting and clay classes in the past. I should try it to see if it works, lol.Last edited by couponmummy; Tue, Aug 2nd, 2011 at 10:12 PM.

Really? I did not know LouLou had coupons in it, I may have to reconsider now that I know lol That is good to know, thanks!
My understanding is that you have to be a student of an accredited school, either part time or full time. You do not get a student card for taking special interest classes, unfortunately."Define yourself do not live by definition"

My daughter is going into grade 9 so this is the first year she qualifies for it - I already told her we will be shopping a lot together lol She's an amazing deal hunter already, so I think we will have fun maximizing our savings together

I wrote into the website asking about that since I am taking correspondence classes and do not as of yet have a student id card (i will need one around xmas for my field placement, but right now I do not) if I could just use a student number, they said yes.
While at payless I asked as well since I saw a SPC sign, and she said that they dont normally ask but if they did a number is fine.
Asked at zellers yesterday and the cashier told me that they have to have an id card because I guess alot of people are lying about being a student or something (her words rephrased).
So I guess the answer is, it depends on the store itself. Im sure if you argue enough and have a student number that some may cave but I dont really know.
