Thread: Heinz and Parkay

Hi all!
I'm super new to coupons! I've always been a thrifty shopper, looking for the deals and using the club cards ... but this is going to be fun!
The other day I got a 1L of Heinz Ketchup for $1.99 using an Air miles coupon. I also got the larger tub of Parkay for a great deal too using an Air miles coupon. The Parkay was on for 2 for $3.50 and I believe my coupon was $2.00 off or $1.50 off. Either way, I was excited to see that I saved some money from using coupons!
I've been reading through the forums and have been trying to absorb the information. Sometimes it feels like information overload ... LOL
Any advice you would have for a newbie would be greatly appreciated! I know about the mail out websites for coupons, but they all seem to be the same ones.
Thanks again for having this great site to learn from!

Welcome Hollymj1977 this is a great site and you will come to love it as well as the members. It will take awhile to learn and believe when I say that that well continue for a long long time as I learn everyday. I would like to tell you that it would be better to post questions like this in either the discuss and request deals or shopping discussions. This thread here is for posting deals and flyers. There is also a coupon section that people tell what coupons they have found or see online etc. You will find lots in there and people would appreciate you telling them about your coupons that you have found and used. You could also post this in the brag section about your shopping so others can see the great job you did and hopefully find some deals they missed. I hope this helps!!

From my experience it takes lots of practice! I started couponing when I was in high school still as a hobby (NOT to the amount I do it now). I have found even now I sometimes don't get the best deals every time, but even if I see I could have gotten I better deal I always pat myself on the back for saving money anyway. It's hard to keep track of everything sometimes. I also try to limit buying things if I don't need them (ie I have 10 bottles of body wash. I am going to try to get it for free another time rather than paying $1 this week). I also leave my expiring coupons on the shelf next to the product if I won't use them.
Hope that helps a bit. It is addictive!!

Sounds like you are off to a great start!! I'm fairly new also, I found checking the 'deals' section and 'coupon forum' really helpful...I also love reading the 'brag' section.
Wishing you much couponing success!!
