Thread: reduced produce @ fairways

Stopped by fairways @ quadra/hillside on my way home, and their clearance produce rack is stuffed full (15~ bags of stuff) of assorted bags of fruit, tomatoes, veggies, etc...
For those not familiar when they get new produce in they toss an assortment of less than perfect & left-over produce into bags for 99¢ each. Usually gotta pare up & throw a piece or two worth out, but the sheer bulk makes it more than worth it
Examples:
three eggplants, a cucumber & a head of lettuce
bag of 10-15 tomatoes
3 tomatoes, 4 peaches, an orange & an avocado
2x clamshells of blueberries
bag of Yu Choy, bag of baby bok choy, a cucumber
a papaya, 2 mangoes, 2 bags of cherry tomatoes & a starfruitThis thread is currently associated with: N/A

Thanks for you post Fury - the first time I read it, I found a wack of organic bananas at the shelbourne location, and just froze them. Great for banana bread and smoothies!
