Exactly. Every time they say it's a beauty redemtpion, it works on everything in the store. Although many people are afraid to give it try because they think it's only for beauty. It's your points, you worked hard to save them, spend a lot of money, now you want to use them, why not?

Well, I tried this out today but DID NOT get 100.00 for redeeming 50,000 points. I bought a can of corn first to check what my receipt said. It said I could redeem 50,000 for 85.00. I really needed alot of food items anyway.....milk,eggs,cheese etc so decided to go for it. I did however get the 10.00 gift card for spending over 50.00 which to me was totally unexpected. So it worked out fine in the end.

that you could only get the bonus if it will say so on your receipt.

The best way is to buy something cheap on the day the bonus redemption is offered and use your Optimum card, if you see a message on your receipt "you could redeem up to $200", then you should have no problems.

But I usually shop at a store that has had the new cash system for over a year.

I still have the bill from the last time I did a redemption & it doesn't say this.

I redeemed $100 at my local SDM and used a $3 Vichy coupon. I also bought milk and eggs and didn't have any issues with the new registers. All I had to pay was the HST so it came to around $10. Yay!

I noticed on my receipt that it said that I could redeem $170 next time. I'm pretty sure you're able to get the bonus redemption on non-beauty items!

You're right, I guess new registers don't have this message.
