I've noticed that many new visitors find it very hard to navigate SC because things are all over the place. The current unprofessional design is also sometimes a barrier when trying to find sponsors.
I'd like to change the design of SC gradually to make it easier to navigate and look more professional.
The first step is to change the header (top red part). I'd like to make it smaller since it's huge for no reason now and also add a better navigation menu. Anyone know where I can find a professional looking header? Any professional designers on here? This thread is currently associated with: N/A

What precisely are you looking for as far as a header? Any ideas in your mind that you can show us that you would call 'professional'?

I just finished searching out a few key words to look at "professional" looking sites.
To tell you the truth... I like this site the way it looks. A few tweaks in color, a bit of a change in your text up there on the header perhaps but as far as forums go I think this place looks professional. Even compared to those claiming to be professional.
What is special about here is the fact that there is no flashing ads or irritating images.
I like the way it looks. lol

Thanks for your feedback guys...
I don't want to change the forum in anyway, it's lovely the way it is. Maybe the colours are a bit ugly but we can look into that later on.
Regarding the header, I'd like to make it consistent throughout all of SC and give it a more professional look.
Examples of professional looking headers. Only look at the top header with navigation... not the whole website
http://www.shopping.com/
see how the navigation bar is so clear yet simple and elegant?

I found these navigation bars... any of them look nice?
