So I've been reading up on how to use Optimum Points at SDM to the best
advantage and one blogger (http://www..ca/2011/04/how-to-earn-s...oints-quickly/)
said that for 20X the points events you have to spend $50 or more before
taxes and COUPONS...is that correct in most Winnipeg locations? if so, that
would be AWESOME then you could use your coupons to get your total far
below the price point while still recieving the points for $50? I know that
every Shoppers is owned independently but I want to know if this is a rule
most stores go by? I does seem only fair because they are getting all that
money back!
Sorry for the rant, I just really want to know! This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

That has been my experience. However I am not 100% sure about the 20X when you need a coupon. I have never tried that.

if your total is $50 before taxes and coupons you WILL get the 20x points - my total after coupons is always lower than the $50 and I have always gotten my points
however you cannot use FPC'S to get the points

Last time I tried to do this at the SDM in St.Boniface they told me it had to be 50$ after all the coupons had been inputed. So I am not sure about this. It might be another one of those things were the cashiers make up their own rules.

I've done it on several occasions when they have the 20X points days... I've never shopped with a x20 coupon for the day... I'll check the SDM thread...

I have done it on a 'coupon' 20x the points event. I just gave her my coupon before the transaction, which she scanned. Then when my total was ~30 she told me I wouldn't get the points and I said 'oh okay that's fine' but she still had scanned the coupon in the beginning so I got the points. Could be trickier if the cashier scans it last.

Could someone please send me a copy of the email? The coupon link on the "Blog" part of this site doesn't work

so does the cashier ring everything in then scan the 20x points coupon then the rest of the mfr coupons? or before ringing in anything the coupon must be scanned?
I just want to make sure I get my points next time because I went there yesterday and one cashier said it was fine (although he looked confused ) then I got my items and another cashier was working and he said it had to be $50 after coupons..I didnt want to risk it so I thought I will learn more so I am confident next time!
