I am new to swagbucks and amazon.ca. When you order over $39, you get free shipping. Can you then use swagbucks giftcards and still get the free shipping or does your total have to be $39 after you have redeemed all your giftcards? and can you apply more than one gift card per order? thanks in advance,

GCs are considered a normal method of payment so you can get free shipping when using them and use them to pay for shipping if needed
You can stack the amazon cards in your account, as you get them, go to your amazon account and click on redeem GC or something like that and under the amount it will say 'this amount will not expire' - just keep adding the cards until you want to spend

the free shipping only applies to $39 worth of items that say "eligible for super-saver shipping" right? and if you dont get free shipping it says for the home and garden section, 4.99 per shipment and an amount per item. How do I calculate what shipping will be because when you add an item to your cart, it says the price and then + 10.31 or whatever shipping. I am confused....

It will say 'eligible for free SuperSaver Shipping' before you get $39 worth of stuff into your cart. It will say, you only have to get $12 more or whatever to get free shipping.
However, a lot of the Home and Garden stuff is from third party retailers, not directly from Amazon. You can still use your Amazon GCs, but they don't qualify for free SuperSaver shipping. I've ordered kitchen stuff from Amazon, ships from Golda's Kitchen, and had to pay shipping. I think I paid about $12, and that was the same for one item or the six items that I ended up buying.
