Hi all, not sure if somebody already posted this yet, but just fyi that there is a music test up that you can do now...have a great day!

Anybody else feel that Q is sniffing around with the idea of introducing more 80's music into the mix? I hope not. I like the current mix of music. If they want to expand they should start playing more of the lesser known songs from the current crop of artists. IMO.

I once said that I wouldn't go to his show if you paid me. Then when I was working on the first aid team at the Dome, the manager called me to tell me that I was scheduled to work the second of his three nights, as that was the last shift that nobody had signed up for, and she had limited people to one shift in order to be fair. I declined the shift because I had something else, can't remember what. I couldn't make her understand that the reason I hadn't signed up was that I had no desire to see Springsteen. Honestly, I don't understand his appeal. Three or four passable songs at most, and usually done better by others (e.g. Fire by the Pointer Sisters).

Morning all...just back from a weekend across the border.....destination was a rubberstamp/scrapbook convention, yup, they really do exist....hehehe!!!....clobbered my card quite well there, thank you.... bought Keebler cookies, grasshopper mint cookies ( don't get them here any more, dunno why not), Hershey Bliss raspberry centres( don't get them any more either?!??!....what gives with this country??)....oh, and a load of stuff from the convention.....I think it's called "retail therapy"?....well, I needed SOME kind of therapy after last month...
....AndiT, I am so sorry about the rotten outcome on that young man...so sad, so senseless....and someone else was saying about a friend in hospital who had dire health issues as well?......what is it with this summer, anyway???....so many ups and downs for so many people on here....I don't get it....TR

....I agree.....some good new bands out there that will be the classics of the future......the Trews, Sloan, Kings of Leon.....that's just a start....TR

Doubtful. In the eyes of the Almighty Corus gods' advertising folks, your "average" radio listener only tunes in to hear what they know. This is why you'll hear Thunderstruck or Highway to Hell ad nauseum, but you're hard pressed to remember the last time you heard Ride On, Riff Raff or Soul Stripper.

I second that... the Mighty Q is great just the way it is, however some bands should be added to the genre of "Classic Rock". No more 80's, but perhaps some more of the alt rock from the early 90's that still lingers around would be a nice addition. They can always keep adding more Tragically Hip!

Marketing people are so narrow. I heard Little Richard's version of Brown Sugar last night for the first time, and it was amazing. Break out those old gems, from when R&B was R&B, not the street pablum they call R&B these days.

A market research company called around to the fire halls to get guys for a beer tasting. My turn on the phone - I told her my three top beers, she asked some more questions, then said, "Oh, if you are a university graduate then we are only looking for you to taste light beers, and you didn't say any light beers in your top three." This kind of research will therefore prove that university graduates prefer light beers.

Actually, I find myself listening to my iPod more and more in the car because my music mixes are much more entertaining than Q's.
