I've been seriously couponing since March. Hubby just looks at me sometimes like I just fell off the turnip truck...lol....he was skeptical for sure....I think he thought I'd buy a ton of stuff we didn't use, after all that how coupons work dont they? make you buy stuff you don't need...lol.....today the DSS came for a visit. He came into the house and says "i hear you're an extreme couponer"..I smiled and said "is that what your dad told you?" and he says yes....."he told me to come and get some stuff"....so I took him to MY grocery store....he's 18, just out of high school, and starting to pay his own bills...we grabbed a bag and loaded him up...Axe body wash, deodorants, tylenol, crest white strips, toothpaste, razor, foamy, hot chocolate, just to mention a few things...we estimate the stuff he took would have cost him about $180......His "stepmonster" (and he truly means it lovingly, we have a great relationship) gifted it to him....the icing on the cake was when he said " I have to learn how to do this"......its music to a couponers ears.......my day has been made!!!!

What a fantastic brag! One of the best things about couponing for me was how much closer its brought DH and I. It sounds silly, but its so true! When I first started couponing, he was skeptical about the whole thing. He thought we'd spend more money than we used to and get a bunch of stuff we didn't need or use.
Yesterday after our SDM trip we had our DS's Godfather over for supper and I showed off my new stockpile shelf. He asked kind of snarkily what kind of junk I was buying that we didn't use. DH chimed right in and said, "Well, the only thing she's bought that we don't use is Aspirin and she got them free and they gave us the overage of two dollars to pay for stuff we did need." It was kind of funny because we used those coupons at GT and they didn't even give us any overage at the time, but I guess he just wanted to defend me!
It's just such a nice feeling to know that even when they grumble and tease you, they do appreciate what you're doing!

Great Brag, and great Sharing.
My DH was skeptical as well, but when we go out, he says ....did you remember your coupon purse? Like I would forget it.
He picks up a few extra tear pads, if he is out and see's them, and comes with me on Shops.
My Parents take DS every Friday night, and DH will ask, would you like to go couponing tonight....Gotta love it.

My DH is supportive for the most part, he hates waiting in lines at the grocery store/walmart but that's about it. At first he'd get a bit annoyed with how much i was buying until he saw what i paid. I thought he'd laugh when i decided to make a coupon binder, and was shocked when he didn't
. He knows i only buy things that we don't really need if they are free, get me overage, or are perfect for donating. Both of our workplaces collect items at christmas time for the food bank/homeless shelter.
