Their policy is you cannot stack a coupon that states

"Cannot be combined with any other COUPON offer" or
"use of more then one manufacturers coupon strictly prohibited"

Their policy hasn't changed in awhile now, you should print out their policy and take into the store with you.

They said they don't accept any stacking with any wording restrictions!

Some coupons have restrictions (like the ones seventhwave mentioned), but some don't. You need to read each one and make sure it complies to these rules. It takes a lot of time but the savings are worth it.

I was having a lot of trouble at my local LD, one cashier denied ALL of my coupon stacks she said "these all say only one coupon per purchase. You can't use them, it's new policy you should know that" I was like EXCUSE ME?!?! So i spoke with the manager, he came down and rang my order in for me. He said that the cashiers were interpreting the wording on the coupons wrong and/or not reading memos. "one coupon per purchase" meaning you can only use one of THAT coupon on each item. He also informed me that there was NO new policy and next time I come in to stack call beforehand to make sure he was working and he would handle my order for me. I would speak to the manager next time!!

I just had a problem with LD in downtown Edmonton last night! I wanted to use my 6$ Advil coupons since they had theirs on sale for 5.49 and use my 5$ and 10$ multibionta coupons since they had theirs on for 12.99. The cashier made a call to someone and told me that the max dollar they can use on a coupon is 3$. At this point she had already rung up my 5$ one, and said that she wasn't technically allowed to do that so she wouldn't do my 10$ one. I asked if she could do it so that it was free, but not give me credit towards and she said no but she could give me a dollar for it off. When I asked her why, she said that too many people were using those coupons and the manufacturers weren't reimbursing the store. Yet I was able to combine the LD coupon book with their sale on the Stayfree pads with the 2$ off coupons, and get 4 packs of pads for free. How does this make sense?

I just went through rejection this week. My LD mgr refused my coupons, that were worded - Cannot be combined with any other offer- THEY ARE STACKABLE. I spoke with LD HO, head of customer service. What is NOT stackable is if the word COUPON appears before the word OFFER.
I suggested that they have a sheet at cashiers, they replied its posted on our website. I replied, yes i know it is & obviously I understand it but your staff & mgrs DONT understand it. Sigh. My story ends happily with store mgr calling me to come in and use my coupons. That is good customer service.
Oh yea, and everyone that continues to present printables over $5, LD limit of acceptance is $3. It is against their policy. You are jeopardizing everyones couponing and taking advantage of those not as familiar with their companies policy. Getting a product for a cheaper price is a great thing, it doesn't always have to be free.

I experienced the same thing in the Ladner LD. It's funny...I went to the Steveston LD that evening and the cashier was totally fine with stacking. Sinced you shop in Richmond anyway, I would recommend shopping at the Steveston location.

P.S. You probably already know this...they perfer you check out through the customer service register.

It really depends on who is at the till. I've had good experiences and bad ones. I've noticed lately that the policies are not consistent across Canada.

One time I was there, the clerk called the places I was PM'ing to check whether they had product in stock; other times they put it through. Remember the Off! and Raid coupons? There were a couple of identical ones with different expiries, I used them once and then wasn't allowed to do it another time. They said they were from the same source, so no-go.

I usually have no problems stacking at LD except last week I was stacking among other things Advil Night time 1 tear pad coupon and 1 printable. She said I couldn't use the printable to stack because it said cannot be combined with any other offer. I even told her it's only not stackable if it says cannot be combined with any other COUPON offer. She said no that wasn't true she also wouldn't let me use one of my 3 Noxema coupons for the same reason. At that point I didn't want to argue anymore so I just said I wouldn't take those items.

I was also getting over $100.00 dollars worth of Aveeno products and I was supposed to get 1 lip balm for each Aveeno product I purchased and a $10.00 gift card for $30.00 in Aveeno products. The lip balms didn't come off the receipt when she scanned them so she looked at the coupon book and said you only get the lip balms when you buy Aveeno moisturizing lotion and I was buying body wash but the coupon book clearly said ANY aveeno product. She also didn't give me the gift card for buying $30.00 worth of Aveeno. I did go back and get that.

The worst part of this is not the fact that I missed out on 18 lip balms and $20.00 in gift cards ( I would have had to split my purchases into 3 transactions to get the other 2 $10.00 gift cards) but she was the SUPERVISOR and should know better. I will never stack with her again because she doesn't know what she's doing.

Oh yeah this same person told me on a previous trip that she would have to reduce the coupon to make sure I was paying at least 1 cent, in addition to the taxes, because you can't get the item for free.

It's so frustrating because I've only been stacking coupons for the last 2 months and I already know more than the supervisor at LD knows.

One more thing to add, all the other CS people I've dealt with at LD have been great.

Good to know! I am new to couponing and I thought I had read up everything on LD's couponing policy. Thanks!

Although I went back the next day to get a refund because the cashier didn't take off a multibionta when I asked her to. I asked the supervisor about the 3$ coupon policy and he said " I'd have to see it, it depends on the coupon." So that didn't really clarify lol.

I was there today and was told the same thing - no more stacking if the coupon says "one per purchase." That is NOT their policy as far as I know...one per purchase means one of that specific coupon as someone already said. I know the cashier because I used to coupon at that location every week so she said she'd put it through "this time" for me.

I've stopped going to that location because they only PM one item and she is the only cashier who seems to know what she is doing with the coupons...if I go at a time when she's not on shift, it's not worth the hassle with the other cashiers.

I agree that the Ironwood location is the better of the two Richmond LDs.

I was at LD today excited to use all my stacks (free Sunlight etc). When we got to checkout we were told the policy had been revised as of September 7th. The policy change is that you can no longer stack coupons if they state "not to be combined with any other offer", on top of the "coupon offer" wording that was previously the only restriction.

I thought the cashier was mistaken and informed her it was only if it said coupon in the wording, as I had been told previously by HO. She showed us a sheet showing the different wordings and what was allowed or not and sure enough "no other offer" restriced coupons can no longer be stacked.

We went through our checkout leaving most things behind. I called head office when I returned home to clarify if this was indeed their new policy and not just the interpretation of that store and they confirmed it. They said it changed about a month ago and many cashiers and stores are not clear on this yet. So dissapointing!
