you are right! ( about the blade steak not being a tender cut) I buy it for the flavour and the price, but I sliced it all thin and pressure cooked it first in some organic fake soy sauce, sesame oil and bit of low sodium beef broth, to make it tender before going forward. Also added a drained can of Lily Sprouts and sliced water chestnuts to the mixture when it was simmering. I was truly impressed at how simple this was. At the very end I added snow peas, and 3/4 bag huge raw spinach leaves. They take seconds to soften.

Ha! My DS's bedroom is above the dining room, where DH and his friends sometimes gather to play boardgames. They were never quiet, DS is five now and sleeps like the dead.
