I live in the boonies, get no flyers, but do occasionally get to a Safeway store, so questions...
"B5G100 @ 4.99 = 2.99 after coupon and $0.19 effectively after valuing the AirMiles."
What does "B5G10" mean?
"YIPPEE!!! I was hoping for that! I have some FPCs too! "
What are FPCs?

B5G100 is shorthand for:
Buy 5 items and Get 100 AirMiles
An Airmile has an average value of $0.14 (based on adding up all the gift certificates offered at AirMiles.ca, dividing by the number of Airmiles needed to buy them and averaging them.
So on a B5G100 you'd get an average value of $14 ($0.14 x 100).
The cost to buy 5 is $4.99 x 5 = $24.95
Subtract the $14 in AirMiles received and the effective cost is:
$24.95 - $14 = $10.95 or $2.19 each
If you have the $2 coupons (offered at Kashi.ca) it becomes $2.19 - $2.00 = $0.19/box effectively.
Now, even better is if you have FPCs (Free product coupons). If you have 5 you'd get 5 boxes for free and still get 100 AirMiles!
So you could pick up 5 boxes for free and still get $14 worth of AMs.

And from one of my columns:
Needless to say, not all my DRIPs are winners. I own Bank of America and Pfizer in the US, but give them some time!
Yes, we DRIPpers have smiles on our faces but I hear my wife calling and I think she has another bucket of water. I can’t wait to tell her about Grace Groner who died recently at 100 years of age. Seems in 1935 she bought 3 shares of Abbott Labs (NYSE: ABT) for a total cost of $180. She left them in Abbott’s dividend reinvestment plan and willed them to her local community college. They were worth $7,000,000 yielding about $250,000 per year. If only she’d used the SPP as well.

I had received a few in trades and trains. They were for honey sunshine kashi and exp. yesterday. I think they were offered as a trial for their new cereal. I had 4 FPCs and I had a $2 off coupon. I held on to them hoping there would be airmiles attached to them. I even posted a thread asking anyone who received the flyers early last week to let me know if safeway had an upcoming airmiles special on kashi. But no one answered (not correctly anyways, they just told me what it said on line but that was last weeks flyer). But patience was rewarded. Yesterday, I received my free cereal AND 100 airmiles... I am soooooo happy.
