Good one--and truer words haven't been spoken!!
Whilest I was trolling around trying to find the post, I came across this unrelated response from the Illustrious AM Customer Service Corps:
AIR MILES Canada @Patrick Delahunty: Sorry to hear of your trouble with Air Canada. We recommend that you contact Air Canada directly fro assistance. We have hidden your post as it contained language that was offensive to our Collectors.
January 6 at 5:23pm · Like
Three quick observations
1) Same old customer service (or lack thereof) from AM and Air Canada.
2) Typos from an average person typing on an iphone are one thing. Typos on a business page are NOT.
3) They said her post contained language that was objectionable to Collectors. How do the #$%& do they know what language is objectionable to me? Objectionable language to AM? "Fair Value"

In response to the lady that objected to my spelling (rather than the issue that she's being ripped off):Which one? I'm on a roll today.
AirMiles Canada, please explain why it is you carge $0.15 plus tax to transfer an Airmile that by your own calculations is worth only $0.105.
- If you're going to keep reposting the same thing, could you please spell 'charge' properly? Thank you.
- Emax's response:
I'm still laughing!Carge (pronounced Kärj)
noun: carge; plural noun: carges
an excessive, abusive fee for goods or services.
eg: "wtf is up with the $10.50 carge from airmiles?"
verb: to carge
the practice of price-gouging
eg: "airmiles carged me again, the b@$t@rds"
BTW, I bumped that post ahead again but it didn't show so I think they're blocking it.
It's a very direct question that would be hard to reply with obfuscation which is why they aren't answering it.

Yes, they're being very selective about which posts they respond to. I posted a number of questions and haven't heard any meaningful response.
Have to say tho, I do feel sorry for the front-line people in airmiles customer support. They're getting hammered with negative feedback and unfortunately they haven't been given appropriate resources to deal with it. Not enough people to answer the phone, poor website that doesn't work half the time, policies and business decisions from their higher-ups that shoot themselves in the foot.
Really it's those higher-ups that need to get this feedback. Hopefully they're monitoring the facebook page and starting to get the message. They really are out of touch with what is considered acceptable business practice these days. Maybe it's out of arrogance, maybe they're under financial stress, who knows.

Well they always seem a bit chronically understaffed but I'm guessing the Christmas backlog as well as what they must be dealing with accommodating all the cancelled flights back east.
As with you, I'm sympathetic to the front line staff. Normally, if I have a major complaint somewhere and have to phone in I usually ask to be passed up the food chain telling the clerk I want to yell at the people making the bigger bucks. (or something like that).
Feel free to bump this ahead if you want:

Amazing they're charging tax to do this too! You don't pay tax to transfer money in and out of accounts and they aren't selling anything to you! Bizarre!

I'm finding my Safeway shopping is falling off significantly almost to the point of non-existence. Airmiles has declined and the rewards have deteriorated as well both in how much you have to spend to get them and how much you get back. There are still good deals but not near enough. I went from mostly a SW shopper for groceries to less than half and now I'm lucky to do 10%- next likely change will be pharmacy (any suggestions?). Like others not the workers faults. Thrifty Foods gets a good chunk of my business now and I've joined Costco as overall it saves me money. The quality of goods from these stores is good as well. Used to be Airmiles was something I really looked forward to whether it be good merchandize or my favourite- gift certificates. For a lot of others it was travel. Now they have taken a lot of the better offers away and made it harder to get what's left. I think they are doing a good job of pushing us to the competition??

Apparently there a "couple of spammers" there now! Wonder who they'd be????Gotta admit the TEAM OBE (Opera Bob and Emax, of course) is ROCKING the comments nowadays on the AM page--I'm sure you two will be driving up traffic to it, if nothing else
!!
WTG!
Comment I want to give is "A fool and their money are soon parted" but I'm holding back!

I'll tell you what spam is: Airmiles paying a third-party blogger to post a shiny happy comment on the airmiles facebook page. ("Our Family World" post this morning -- see the disclaimer at the bottom of the blog page about receiving compensation).
Paying for fake positive endorsements while ignoring legitimate questions and concerns -- they're getting sleezier with each passing month.

You know, the more I roam the AM page, the more I realize there's not much hope for most of the AM FB community that has responded to the "negative" comments of late. Of course, I have also realized there's not much hope for society in general, given that someone in FLA got shot by someone else for continually texting in a movie theatre. Death penalty for movie texting in the US? Boy, what a rough country!
OK with that bit of macabre humour out of the way, continue on OB and Emax, but I don't think your logic and witticisms are having much positive effect there. Here, it's still great!!I use DropBox to store my Las Vegas pictures, books, etc., online. It works on every device/computer that I use, and gives you 2.0GB of storage for FREE.
