VWT - tips on making a good VWT list?

Hi SC'ers!

I would love some tips on how to make a good VWT List. I've been reading through a lot of the coupon trains and it seems like some are really specific with lots of acronyms and others are more general. Any tips on a format or easy way to organize my list so I don't get confused or get others confused as well?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

if i was making one, i'd start off with jot notes, or brainstorm on a piece of paper. Once you get started, you'll prob keep adding. If you get stumped, look at someone elses VWT train, and see what they have on there VWT list, and what you don't. I hope this helps!

Since you are just starting out, you`ll probably be doing a lot of Newbie VWT trains to start. (It`s the best way to build your trade rating up so that you can start trading in earnest).

I found it really hard when I first started the VWT`s because some people were too specific, either with the $ amount or a particular UPC. The more specific you are, the harder it will be to find what you are looking for. Then you will end up getting five of the same coupon that is easier to locate, instead of a variety of coupons.

Be brand specific. Don`t just say Peanut Butter or you`ll be surprised by the coupons you get for Peanut Butter you`ve never heard of!

Make sure you have at least 35 choices, if not more.

Always specify whether or not you are willing to accept Printables, French, Save.ca, Gocoupons.ca, Websaver.ca or P&G, Toonies for Tummies (ON only), etc. Otherwise you get what you get and you may find yourself with coupons you can`t even use.

Try to limit the number of HV or FPC you list. Most people are not going to be sending these in a VWT. You`re better off saving these kinds of coupons for actual trades.

Some other things you want to think about when signing up for VWTs - make sure you`ve got lots of stamps. You may end up needing to send people stamps if you don`t have coupons. Also a good idea to buy some small snack sized baggies to seperate coupons since it is a big no-no to use post-its, tape or staples. I also print up a sheet with my user name on it so that I can just write each person`s name on it so that the conductor can easily see who the coupons are to and from.
