Ouch! Help??

So DH and I finally bit the bullet and bought a new car seat at Babies R Us for our daughter...only to find the same one (different colour) on crazy sale at Superstore!

Now, I'm guessing because it's a different colour (grey and not black) that it's considered a different seat and couldn't have been price-matched at Babies R Us (assuming they do that...)

Does anyone know? I'm so upset! It would have saved us $150!!!

I am looking at the babies r us flyer and they say they price match any advertised price. Not sure about the colour thing, but you have nothing to lose to ask and $150 to gain!!!

Good point! Now to track down the Superstore flyer and go there to ask!

I price matched at Toys R Us to a sears flyer and they were different colours but the same model etc no problem.

in-store policy:
in addition to our "everyday low prices", toys"r"us canada also offers a "low price guarantee" subject to the conditions listed below.

• item must be identical.
• a current, local canadian competitor's advertisement must be presented and must show price.
• competitor must have the advertised item in-stock and available for immediate sale in the same local market area.
• any coupons will be deducted from toys"r"us canada's original price.
• where a low price guarantee is applied after purchase, the difference will be refunded in the same method as the original payment within 14 days of original purchase date. Original receipt is required.
• the low price guarantee does not apply to the following: Membership clubs, offers exclusive to internet, mail order offers, advertising errors and/or misprints, rebates or free/bonus offers, coupons, limited/minimum quantity, limited time offers, bundled offers, close-outs, liquidations/clearances, rain-checks or special financing offers or loyalty card points.

Call RCSS, ask them about the model & how many they have in stock before you head out. Ask for the person's name that you spoke to so you have this info if they try to claim that they also called & were told there was no stock.
If there is no stock, then you may be out of luck.

So my initial thought was right... different colour = different model.
Superstore carries the grey one (which, BTW, is out of stock at both the Calgary Trail and South Common locations)
Babies R Us has the black one
Didn't get $150 back but I'm glad I asked anyway!

I would of suggested to return the toys r us one..for the superstore one to save the money ...great deal. Alas you say they have none in stock anyways.

at least you tried..i know once you take a carseat out of the box and put it in the vehicle they do not let you return them..someplaces don't let you return them once they are taken from the store!! This is why I suggest taking the floor model and trying it in your vehicle before choosing to buy

oh i had no idea! glad i read this post before buying my sons next car seat. im so picky sometimes when it comes to him i return things 4 times before finding something perfect for him...lol. Especially car seats they dont like to fit into my truck well

I did consider trying that...I didn't know you couldn't return them either, but makes sense I guess! But yes, I would have been ticked if I'd returned it and couldn't find the Superstore one anyway! Haha

At least we are really happy with the seat thus far.

OMG how much is a car seat? It seems like companies rip people off because the items are specialty.
