I'm very proud of you for going. I've had 2 babies, so lots of docs poking around down there. But I really hate getting those tests and put it off for 3 years. I couldn't believe it when I got a letter from the prov gov't telling me it was time to get a test and all the reasons for needing one. I went anyway and the test was ok. It was a doc I had seen many times and he took longer than I'm used to. But it was over quick enough and at least I know I'm healthy.
I don't think things get easier, but you know you're healthy and that's what's important. Maybe next time you can bring a friend or have the same doc to make things a bit more familiar.

OP, i'm SO glad you went and had it done!! good for you!!
for very similar reasons, i was never a fan of them and i avoided them for a few years. i finally went and got it done a few years after my last baby and thankfully i did because i ended up having high grade cervical dysplasia (pre-cancer). had i not gone for my pap and left it for a few more years, it could have ended it up to be MUCH worse than that.
