Just wanted to ask, Where do you get your perogies from in Winnipeg now that Alycia's is closed?
I perfer homemade myself, but Alycia's was the closest to homemade I could find in Winnipeg.
I have also tried Pinchers' Perogies Available from Lewis Catering on Elgin.
I think that is where they are made too. They have a wonderful All dressed perogie that has cheese, dill, and lots of other great stuff in it.
Then there is Ann's Perogy Palace on Salter which is the only place that makes Meat Perogies that I know of in the city, which my dad loves. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

My mom, a Ukrainian, makes the best perogy I know and have tasted. I wish she lived closer. She did at one time make and sell, but I'm not so sure she does anymore.

Mom's Perogies on Sinclair & Jefferson has to prolly be the best out there right now, they also have a pretty big selection to choose from as well..meat included and some amazing blueberry ones! Annes has really lost it's touch, the sauerkraut ones are basically cheap canned kraut thrown in..very sour, bitter and just not like they used to be. Last christmas i got a few dozen from both places and Mom's Perogies was by far the best, cant even compare them to Annes! Im Polish so i know my perogies It's best to preorder for holidays because they get insanely busy..sometimes you get them so fresh that you see the old ladies in the back making them and they are still warm. Great now i have a huge craving for perogies, i know what im making for dinner tonight!

From Ann's they are about 5.65 to 5.95 a dz. Depending on what you want.
The 3.50 is a good deal for homemade perogies. I sometimes make my own but they are so much work.
I would imagine the other places would be about the same. The most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles, apparently doing nothing." --Helen Dillon

I have bought from sevala's and they are very good and ann's are good too. Naleway's on main are cheap but definitely a cross between store bought and homemade.

St. Ivan Suchavsky Cathedral at 939 Main Street make fresh pyrogies every Thursday & Friday. I have been ordering from there for a very long time. The pyrogies are made by volunteers. The closer the date to a holiday, the harder it is to get an order. If you want for Christmas, order early November.
Telephone order are only accepted on Thursdays & Fridays starting around 9 am by calling 942-1991. Pick-up is available on Thursday & Friday starting around 3 pm. Availability depends on the number of previous orders & # of volunteers. See attachment for menu & prices.

I second Sevala's, but I think you have to order by Dec 14th if you want them for Christmas. I like to order their big ready to cook packs that you just throw in the oven. They already have the butter and fried onions in them!
