Donation Box

I was just organizing my stockpile, and adding a few things that I got at SDM yesterday when i made a decision.

Since finding out that the food banks need more than food. (kinda a duh moment when you think about it) I have decded to start a donation box. Every once in awhile when I get a good haul, i'm going to take a few things and throw them in a milk crate I have off to the side. When the crate is full, i'll send it off to the food bank. Be it personal items food, toiletries, whatever. If I'm going to pay 99 cents for something that's usually ten dollars. I can throw one or two in a box for someone else.

anyone else doing anything similar?

It's really nice that couponing has led me to a place in my life where i can afford to donate instead of recieve.

We have always donated to less fortunate. But, since really getting into couponing, I've been able to donate even more. Our two main charities are the food bank and Transition House, but we are not limited to that. We always give to charities that help children in any way.
