    Hi guys!
Well I'm on the lookout for a fancy dress
My friends told me shopping during the boxing day sales would be good but I'd like a more depedable source, haha! So does anyone know of a good store, online or real, that sells affording long dresses? I do know of modcloth and ruche but not much else. I know it's a lot to ask for but I want a dress under $100 or else I'll try to make my own!

fairweather has cheap prom dresses. also check out your local outlet malls and vintage, consignment or second hand stores to see if they have anything good. it's usually the little stores that give the best value for your dollar. they might be a little more expensive if the dress is new but the chances of you wearing the same dress as someone else is greatly diminished

wow, thanks! I never go clothes shopping because i get all my clothes from family friends I never knew fairweather sold that kind of stuff, will check it out! And yeah our thriftshop has this AMAZING green dress that looked like $100 and it was $15, brand new, but of course it was the wrong size I think finding the size and style is mostly the thing that drives me to want to make my own dress! I want a long dress but being asian im only 5'2 haha. thanks for the input!!!!

Wait for the dresses at Fairweather to go on sale for half price sometime next year. You can also check a store called Norma Reed. I found a perfect evening gown for $56.49 including all the taxes. The regular price was $299.99. Surprisingly, it didn't have to be hemmed at all either and I am exactly your height.

It may have been an error since there was another dress, exactly the same for $99.99, missing the rose at the side of the waist.

You can also check the Asian dress shops. My friends bought dresses there for around $40 in the embroidered fabrics. They fit shorter torsos much better than the dresses in Fairweather, I find.

One of my cousins is getting married and ordered all her bridesmaids dresses from here. They also sell prom dresses and at really good prices.

Make your own!!!! do it! Everyone will be getting their dresses from Fairweather, Le Chateau, Laura ext. If you are looking for something original making your own is best, so is thrifting if you are not so handy with a sewing machine.

Seriously. That is what I did for my prom dress, it was super cute and a nice plum purple (I'm a ginger so it went well) and no one person had a similar dress to me or in the same color since my shade of purple was not the "in" colour at all the stores. I got alot of compliments and people were amazed that I was able to make it myself.

The perks of making your own is that you get to choose your style and then choose from all the fabrics in the fabric store. You are not limited to the styles or colours of the season. Before I had decided to make my own, there was this style of dress that I really liked at a store but I only had 3 colours too choose from and neither of them looked good with red hair so I was out of luck. You are also making a dress that is completely tailored to you! Especially if you are 5'2 unless you shop in the petite section for dresses I think you will have a hard time finding a long dress that you won't be swimming in.

First consider what type of dress code your college has. There are certain colleges like the law college that have specific dress code for the graduation day.Well nice shared post remind me of my college days.
