Even the best laid plan o' an SDM and WM shopping trip often go awry :(

So, I was excited today to take advantage of some deals at WM and the 18500 WUS $75 SDM event today - I had my shopping plan strategy planned out, typed up and in hand and my DD in tow

First, we went to WM to grab some of the Gillette Fusion Proglide razors on sale for $7.97 since the sale ends here in QC today, and I wanted to use up a bunch of soon to expire $4 off brandsaver and B1 FUsion G1 Gillette Product coupons.

My plan:

5 - Gillette Fusion Razors @ $7.97 - 5 x $4 off coupons = $3.97 each/$19.85 total
5 - Gillette Shampoo @ $4.96 - 5 x B1G1 coupons = FREE

What actually happended:

The cashier did the razors and entered the coupons no problem. Then, she took a look at my B1G1 coupons and called over the head front end store manager. They tell me I can only use 4 of my 5 coupons not sure why - and language is a barrier for me here in QC unfortunately b/c my French is terrible if not non existent. So I can't ever really disagree b/c it gets lost in translation and I feel stupid She gave me back one coupon.

The transaction is finished - and I start to walk away with my DD and look at my receipt. Even though they took 4 of my B1G1 coupons - they only took off 2 of the shampoo So then I was just annoyed and had to wait in line to do the Return/Exchange (I loathe the Return/Exchange line at WM!!!) and just returned the 3 Gillette shampoos they charged me for - and left. So I ended up with the 5 razors but only 2 Free shampoos when I should have had 5 Thankfully my DD was a very patient little girl

Then, I was hoping for better luck at SDM with following my shopping plan

My plan:

9 - Satin Care Shaving Gel @ $2.99 - 3 x $9 WUB 3 coupons = -$.01 each/-$.09 total & Receive 10x the pts WUS $20+
5 - Amigo Cat Litter @ $6.99 = $6.99 each/$34.95 total & Receive 15x the pts WUS $10+
4 - Stouffers Bistro Crustinis @ $2.50 - 2 x B1G1 coupons = $1.25 each/$5 total & 4 Stouffers pins
1 - Method 25 Load Detergent @ $7.99 - 1 x $1 off coupon = $6.99 & 10x the pts & 2000 BP printable SDM coupon!!
1 - 6 Pack Bubbles @ $1 on clearance = $1

Total B4 Coupons & Taxes = $80.85
Total After Coupons = $47.85 & 28,900 SDM Points

However, once again my plans went awry!! I grabbed everything and brough it to the register. They had to call the manager over to check on my brandsaver $9 wub 3 coupons - but she said it was just fine. All the coupons were entered correctly using the 2001 code and the 2 b1g1 as 2002 exactly as I had planned

My DD was growing very inpatient with me and my shopping at this point and I was very distracted. So I hurried and paid and started to check my receipt as I was leaving - I didn't have the 18500 bonus points

I couldn't figure out what I did wrong with my planning!!! So we got to the car and I loaded everythign in the trunk and my DD in her seat. And sat down to take a closer look - the cashier only rang up 3 of the 5 Amigo Cat Litters I bought!!!

I didn't want to go in to just pay for the 2 litters b/c then it wouldn't have been on my original transaction and I wanted the 18,500 pts!! And I the point value I would end up with in total would be far more than the $14 she forgot to charge me.

And this was me with the thought of bringing everything back into the store to void my transaction and have it re rang up So I didn't - I was just so annoyed with how awry my shopping plans went I wanted to go home. Maybe tomorrow I'll go back when my DD's at school to straighten it out

Oh that's terrible. I would probably sit down and cry after all that. Not really but I would have felt like that.
Maybe you could go back tomorrow. I don't know their policies though.

oh god that sounds very emotionally draining. I probably would have been near tears after that. I hate when something goes screwy. I always have anxiety when I check out at Shopper's because I'm always horrified that something will ring up cheaper than what it said on the shelf, and if it does I have to catch it and dash and get something else quickly.

That really sucks Tony, and if you do go back and ask them to void it and do it again, you'll get the "it's because you didn't spend the minimum" argument for why you didn't get bonus points.

it's so hard to do all this stuff with the little ones when they aren't at the age to understand. (or just sit and hush because mommy said so!)

I know excactly how you feel. I hate those days. I think you have the right idea though start fresh on a new day. Sound like you have a very patient little one. Hope you have a Awesome day tommorow and a good night.

Wow .. both WM & SDM screwed up big time .

The thing with WM is that they only gave you 2 free Shampoos but took 5 B1G1 Free coupons from you which they will redeem from P & G .. so they ( WM ) will actually make money on a product they never gave you .. so not only WM is screwing you they are also screwing the MFR ( P & G ) by claiming those coupons

Just kidding, my gosh I hate when that happens and they are such good little troopers for putting up with our mega shopping trips.

You are right though for big shops it's best to do it when they are in school.

I had my trip to Superstore today kind of planned out. I had 15 coupons & FPC's (the most I've ever used in 1 trip thanks to some SC's trades!)

Everything 'was' going well, but after 2 or 3 coupons, the cashier needed an 'override'. Another cashier had to come over & enter her code or something after each coupon Took forever. I thought she had entered every coupon, but was in a rush to pick up DS at school. when I got home, I noticed she didn't enter my P&G B2save$5, but she kept it!!!

I called & was told they couldn't check cause the coupon had already gone thru.
But to go to Customer Service next time I'm in town (it's 35 min drive) & they'll give me my $5 (I hope).

Wow, thats too bad you had to deal with all that! Really messes up your day! Hope you get it fixed at SDM...just return it all & buy it back , lol They messed it up so they should have to fix it for you! imo! Plus their till will be short! & manager won't be happy!

Had the same thing at WM Wallaceburg, ON the other day with the Pledge pet sweeper $3off coupons...bought 5 at $3 each on clearance but cashier only entered 4 coupons & they were closing so I couldn't get the money back but I did get my coupon back as I caught it before i left!
You really have to watch them like a hawk, lol
