I have been asked by several people if I would teach them how I save money. I have had many of them even suggest I charge a fee. I find it hard to believe that people will pay you to teach them how to save money. Anyway, I have decided to teach a class of 25 all of the coupon techniques that I have learned over the past 9 months. Just to ease everyones mind, I WILL NOT charge for this class. I do not feel right charging people to learn what I was taught by so many generous SC'er who took the time for a newbie. I plan on giving all 25 people a binder with coupons in it. I plan to go to the dollar store to buy the binders and card holders. My question is for those who have done this before, Is there a number to offices where I can contact some of the coupon distributors to see if they would send me 25 of each of their coupons. I do not want them for myself but I would love to put the tools in the hands of those at the class that day so they can immediately start saving money. I am hoping after this that we will have 25 new SC members. If any of you have anything that would help (advice, coupons, suggestions) please share them with me. I am in the process of contacting all of the stores and getting in writing their individual coupon policies so that I can include this in the class as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I couldn't even dream about doing this if it weren't for my fellow SC'ers

I am hoping that those who bring their laptops will be able to do this at the class. I am planning on walking them through all the websites. I have several older ladies who are scared of computers so I am hoping that If I show them how to do it they will better understand

Take them out during the class to a mall or somewhere that you tend to find lots of coupons... and put them on a mission.... then have them come back, and do a coupon swap!
Or set up another meeting 1 month later for a coupon swap, that way you will know how many of those that attended actually took you seriously.
You could also contact local papers that deliver smartsource and redplum, and see if they happened to have extra copies you could get your hands on.
Or if you were me, and yes I can get greedy sometimes... go grab 25 of each of the coupons you find. Please vote for our summer traditions on Facebook

Great idea & nice of you to do this! I would charge them for the cost of the coupon binder & for your time...maybe $2 to $5...then you know who is serious about saving money! Just a suggestion...up to you!
You could also have a cheat sheet with all the websites, Smartcanucks, save.ca, brandsaver etc & maybe a listing of some of the companies they could email for coupons...and some notes on how to use the coupons ie, bogo, FPC, on sales etc.
I like the idea of taking them to a store but a group of 25 might attract some attention, lol Maybe 2 smaller groups would be good...
Good luck!
