    Hello all,
I am just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get an interest rate lower than 19.75% on a Costco AMEX card?

I got an offer to increase my limit today, but talked to customer service and told them I wanted to increase, but only if they were able to make the interest rate lower. The rep said no, so I spoke with a supervisor who also said they aren't able to lower the rates.

I thought that they might just be saying that. Does anyone know of a Costco AMEX card interest rate lower than 19.75%?

    Thanks so much!

Maybe you will have to tell them that you are going to cancel the card if they don't lower the rate. Just give it a try.
Earn $50 by opening an account at ING Direct using orange key 35844570S1 and deposit $100. PM me to get additional $10.

I doubt that you'll get lower on AMEX, that's not quite the same as other credit cards. We've applied for an AMEX card too to use at Costco, but we've gone for the no-fee Air Miles one, since we don't spend huge amounts there. We use Visa everywhere else that earns points; it has a higher interest rate, but it doesn't matter for us since we pay it off every month.

If you're not paying the balance every month, no reward card is worth it. That's how they make their money to pay for those rewards, by the interest you pay. IMO, get another card with a lower interest rate. Pay cash at Costco, since they don't take anything but AMEX.
