Planning on taking part in the big redemption weekend on Dec.3 but Im just wondering which SDM location has the best selection for toys ans such? Im redeeming for my 2 kids, 4 and 14. Possibly a little for my 2 nephews. 1 and 6.
Ive looked at the selection at Broad and 14th and wasnt too impressed. Also went to Northgate and found a few things I maybe interested in.
Just wondering about some of the bigger locations like Park St? South Albert? Any others im missing???This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

I like the Normanview one, and the Sherwood one is great if you want beauty items. Had a really good experience at the Vic Square store yesterday so that's a good one as well!
I'd stay away from Cornwall. The mall is going to be crazy this weekend and the store could get pretty picked over!

I'm the opposite, I'm in Lakeridge and I find the South/East stores too far, lol. IMHO the Normanview and Northgate SDM's are a disappointment. I may be going on the wrong days though, who knows. Or it may be that I see so many awesome brags posted involving SDM deals that I am expecting too much I am interested in how you make out. I may have to force myself to venture out that way more often. I have never done a redemption before but Mrs. January makes it look easy Good luck!

South isn't too bad. They had stuff for younger kids - princess dress up, barbie dolls. I didn't focus on boy stuff but last year they had cars. They have a crappy movie selection and are always crazy on redemption day but I suppose all store are.

Checked out the South this morning and they had a better selection of DS games and a few misc. things but they didnt have the Leap Frog toy that I was looking at for DS. So Im really torn now! Went back to Northgate last night night and they seemed like everything was picked over. Not sure if they are going to restock or not.

How did everyone do with the SDM mega redemption?
I went to the Normanview at 8:00 AM and got the following:
3DS $139.00 (it was on sale yeah)
2 different pokemon games 39.99 each(for my grandsons sshhh)
Christmas lights 13.00 ( found out last night I had some that didn't work)
17.00 of odds and ends ( Christmas chocolate , chips , dip, kleenex)
I used 2.25 of coupons
my total before tax was 250.94 so I paid a total of 25.50
I am pretty happy with my finds ....... hope you all had a good one

I headed to the broad st this am at 8am! My spouse and I decided we didnt need anymore stockpile items and our x-,as shopping is already done. So we bought ourselves something we normally wouldnt!
I got:
1 PS3 Move Start up Kit (includes camera and 1 controller and 1 game) 99.99
1 more controller 49.99
1 navigation controller 29.99
1 lord of the rings move game 34.99
1 little big planet 2 move game 39.99
Total was 280.45
redeemed $250.00
OOP was 30.45
We are now set up for the holidays and do not need to purchase a Wii for ourselves!
Super happy with it all
Hope everyone else scored some good deals!

I went to Vic East for mine and got everything I wanted to get (mostly groceries and a couple of small gifts - no electronics) so was very happy. I got to the store at 7:45 and there was an employee outside as if he was there to do security, but there was no one in line. I waited in the truck until 8 am and was the first in the door, and it was VERY quiet the entire time I shopped.
I went back at 3:30 for the second redemption and it was quite busy, but they still had the groceries and HABA items I wanted. The only challenge was the til froze up just before she attempted to redeem my points so we had to unpack everything and scan it all over again. I wasn't going to be upset but the few people behind me in line were.Last edited by josask; Mon, Dec 5th, 2011 at 11:37 AM.
