When you use say a $2.00 off coupon on a $1.99 product do I have to buy something small to make it over 2.00 or does the coupon apply after taxes? Thank you all

depends on cashieer, easiest thing is to buy something else then they may not notice. if they do notice they will say no, or maybe make the coupon less... really hit and miss!

Some cashiers just wont take them if they are over the amount, even if buying something else, but check to see if it says it includes applicable taxes on the coupon as it can usually be used to cover tax

Saturday I went to WM to buy the Secret DOs @ $2.47. I used my buy 2 save $5 coupons and bought 8 of em. I had a LOT of stuff and she never quipped... just told me how cool it was I was saving so much money. Mind you I always go to the same girl so I know I can get away with more but Retail my bill before taxes was 89$ and out of pocket I only 11.04 before taxe.

Zellers includes taxes so you'll have an easier time there.

Or sometimes they reduce the price of the coupon to $ 1.99 to match the product price

Thanks guys I just don't want to buy a bunch of 0.99 cent items and use a 2.00 off coupon and having a cart full and them saying no lol, I would just die from embarassement lol, maybe i'll just ask someone at the store first.

they may say no on a 99c item, you would have more luck with a $1.99 item

Yeah, I was just watching a members u tube video and she gets her (2) 0.99 cents items free when she uses her 2.00 off coupon. I was told at London drugs the coupon has to be higher than the product amount, not sure how she does it lol.
