If hollyhill, hcao, Jezzebelle and carly do not have their points returned I think we should organize some kind of fundraiser for them. Since we cannot transfer the points directly to them I would be happy to contribute by sending them something to a secure address, such as a PO Box or 1 of those short term mail outlet places. We could send coupons or maybe start a new OP card with dummy info, buy a $10, $20 or $50 dollar gift card so the account would have 100, 200 or 500 OP points and then send them the physical OP card so they could transfer the points to their accounts. Or maybe send a $5 SDM GC so we would get the points and they could get started collecting the OP points again.

I feel really bad for these people and want to do something to help them. Do you realize that hcao is expecting her 7th child?

If they do not want to have anything to do with SDM after this I would completely understand and I would be happy to send coupons. They should feel OK about posting a PO Box addressed to "recipient" or their SC name. No one deserves to get ripped off for $1000 for making 2 trades in the past 4 months and I think SDM has a terrible attitude about the whole situation. Imagine if you walked into a SDM and tried to steal $100s of dollars of merchandise from them. You would be arrested as fast as they could dial 911.

But truthful. Don't get me wrong, of course I feel bad that people lost their points. The point that I am making is that there needs to be accountability. Members are taking advantage of this program, no necessarily all the ones who lost their points, but it is happening. I think we all have a responsibility to use the program in the way that it was intended to be used, not abused!

Unfortunately there have been other great scers that have lost their points, had them stolen etc over the years and that would be unfair to them imo.

Are you saying that the people whos points were stolen were abusing the program? Because thats absolutely false and rather insulting.

What I said Sally, is that there are many members here who use abuse the program. That is absolutely TRUE and cannot be denied.

and theres lots of members whos points are gone that have not ever even traded points...or abused sdm. Ever.

SDM "security" SUCKS

I did the same thing on Sunday, changed my postal code just in case, but when I logged in today (using birthdate) I noticed my old postal code was back on my profile.. Strange...

i don't think its abuse. i think there are people who have tried to maximize points by trying different things. you could say looking for loopholes. i think there's a difference between transferring and trading points and i think shoppers supports transferring but not trading. therefore, i don't think they will help anyone who traded.

Honestly even though I was ripped off I have learned my lesson about sharing my card number. It never even crossed my mind that this could happen. Before the roak two weeks ago I had only gave my points away back in September. This time of year is tight for alot of people and since I was counting on these points for Christmas gifts($1000 would have went a long way) for my kids has made things more difficult but, thankfully DH had a decent amount in his vacation fund though work so my kids will have an excellent Christmas:-)

It's so refreshing to know there are some sweet people still in this world. Thank's or you sweet offer:flowers: Just the though means so much:-)

Dennis Mackay This is not SDMs fault. You are letting your anger cloud the root of the problem. Smart Canucks has scammers on their site collecting your sensitive information. It's obviously been going on for a long time and the thieves picked the perfect moment to strike. It is unfortunate for sure, but in no way is it SDMs issue. Yes, their security could use improvement, but you all chose to use their service knowing that it was easy to access. Dennis Mackay Is the SDM site so insecure that you can access ALL cards related to the same address even if you only have 1 card number? Those who aren't on SC still are connected to someone on SC. The connection is there. As far as I can see there isn't one person who's spoken up about stolen points that isn't either a member of Smart Canucks or somehow related to someone who is a member of Smart Canucks. Whoa Nelly. First of all, I can't even keep straight all the names of the people that were affected by this, in order to PM you. Secondly there was no finger pointing whatsoever in my statement, merely questions and curiosities about what the reasoning from SDM would be for the very different situations there seem to be. The "IF" should have clarified that point. The only thing I meant by my statement was that I have not heard of anyone outside of SC affected except a SC member's mom, and indirectly that means there is still a connection. That's all, nothing more, nothing less, nothing accusatory.

The question was, is this the only place on the net that people trade SDM points? If so, does no one else find it odd at all? The answer has been that not everyone affected is associated with SC, but my post was simply to illustrate that (at least from what I understand) there is only one other person not associated with SC, but it is a SC's mom.

Do you understand what I'm saying? I'm not accusing anyone of anything, and could give two hoots what anyone does with their points, and have stated numerous times that I hope everyone gets them back. My post was simply to point out the very obvious fact that something is odd with the fact that there is a connection.

If people are trading points all over the internet, and nothing has happened to their points, it's odd. If people only trade here, and SCers were the only ones affected (including family members who have transfered with them), that too is odd.

That's it. I certainly do apologize if you felt malice where none was intended.

Yes, were all very questionable. :lolsign: Guys just an idiot. Theres people who had their points stolen who have never traded points on here or shared their card number.

I noticed the same thing too!

Also, this afternoon I couldn't login without my password but now it's back to the same old story....
