Message receipt/tracking feature glitch ?

I sent a pm to Boo about this over a month ago and never got a response...(I understand he may be too busy or the wrong person to ask ) ironically.... that pm appears as "unread" in my message tracking.

I'd like to know how reliable the "Read receipt" feature is. My message tracking shows various pms as "Unread" when I know the members have been online since.

Or other times, it shows "Message read" but I haven't received a response after several days...I doubt there are that many rude members on SC and I know this has also happened with traders I've had great trades with in the past...

when it's a member I don't know... I hate having to bug them again just to ask "Did you get my pm ?"

Am I the only one with this problem ? Any insight ?

I think the read reciept is acurate. I've never had an issue with it.
somethimes people don't get back to others for whatever reason
if it's about a trade there's no harm in sending another PM as long as you are polite and not hounding someone.

as for a question to Boo I would go through a mod. I'm sure he gets many PM's about things that can be answered by searching through the site or just going to a mod.

It depends on if they read it directly on the site or not. If it's also delivered to email which is a common setting, they may not even bother to read it on SC which would show it as unread. In addition, if it's read from their phone, it may not mark it as read either.

Sometimes people may not respond to a PM straight away for whatever reason. If I am lazing on the couch & checking SC with my ipod when a PM arrives, I am likely to read it, but probably not respond until I am at my laptop as it takes time to type out messages from a phone/ipod.

Boo is a slacker I think he probably checks the email version and only logs in if its really important, if its about the site, you can ask Sally or Amberlab & if its something they can't do they can get hold of him

As far as being online, I am often on from my phone and can't access PMs from the app, it just says it can't reach the server when I try, so I read them and then reply when I am at a computer

Unless its important, not everything needs a response, I don't necessarily think it is rude not to answer them, depends what it is though
