Thread: Coupon question
-
Wed, Dec 7th, 2011, 04:17 PM #1
Hello everyone!
I have a quick question about coupons and what would be considered stacking.
If I have a coupon that states B3G1 is that coupon on the 3 or on the 1?
If it's on the free item, can I then use a coupon that says B2G2$ off or would that be stacking?
Thank you

I am not sure if its technically allowed but I have done something similar many times. In my view, as long as it works out where you are only using one coupon per item, I don't see why not. For example, I used the BOGO VH steamers the other day at Freshco. I got one free with the BOGO, and I used $1.00 off for the other one so I ended up getting two for $2.00. They let me do this at Freshco and if it works there, it should work anywhere since they are fussy about taking coupons LOL.
When I go to the checkout, I always put up the item I will be using the "money off" coupon for first. After that one is rang through, I will put up the second item and present the BOGO, or similar coupon, so the cashier sees that I am only using one coupon per item. It is more confusing if you just hand everything together.
I hope that helps.

I figure the coupon applies to the item money is being taken off of. I'd allow it.

Well Natadd, I went to 2 different Maxis , and it was a no go
They didn't want to hear that the B3G1 is applied to the free Ziploc regardless of whether I had coupon to discount the ones I actually bought. If you manage to combine them, I'd love to hear where it DID work for future reference. (Not that I'll be needing freezer ziplocs for a while after today
)
Good luck

Side bar fact - At most US stores this is completely allowable. In fact the coupon policies (all of which are online, sigh if only we could get this advanced!) use this as a scenario and indicate that it is valid. I think it's only Rite Aid or Walgreens that doesn't allow it.
In Canada, I have never tried it for fear of being rejected. Good luck to everyone giving this a try!Kate
