Hmm, I'm thinking the envelope system doesn't work in that I put a different credit card in each envelope and rotate through which envelope I grab? Not sure it would work for me then!

I prefer to not carry much cash. I'm too honest with panhandlers at time, if I just don't have cash, then I don't feel the need to lie to them (I was giving granola bars to one guy at a street corner last week though that had a sign saying hungry and homeless). If I don't have cash, when my kids ask for something they know when I say 'mommy doesn't have money for that [junk]" that I am not lying.

I don't keep track of my budget. Since starting to coupon more extensively I've been working less which is where I get money for 'extras' from. Since I haven't been working, aside from one family Christmas gift, I've done pretty good staying in my $700-800 monthly budget (for ALL shopping, clothes, food, paper products, toiletries, gifts, gas for the one vehicle we have for a family of four), which I think is pretty reasonable. Other than utilities and mortgage all my monthly spending is within that amount, whether I debit, credit card it (and pay off the credit card, I want my PC points at least) or cash.
