Back in the hospital, to treat infection- Home today!
My 14 year old is having surgery to remove the two strange lumps on her feet.
She will be attended to by a plastic surgeon immediately so her feet will be 'repaired' right away.
They still don't know what the lumps are but I hope we will now soon have an answer.
I am scared, it is her first surgey since being diagnosed with diabetes. I know they have a special protocol in place for her. But I am still worried.
But happy it is finally being done.
So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers please. She had one postponement already because of the flu but thankfully she is fine today so everything should be a go.
She goes into the preoperation meeting today, with the hospital endricrinologist, anesthetist, surgery nurse etc, to walk us through the whole procedure and what to do if she goes low during the night before , how to adjust her insulin amounts before and after the procedure etc. I wish she was in childrens hospital where her diabetes team is, but the orthopedic surgeon and plastic surgeon don't work there.
Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at a 7:00 AM.
And I hope the lumps are " nothing" and that will be the end of the whole thing.
And please pray that she heals quickly with no complications.
