Okay I gotta admit, I am having trouble figuring out the math with the SDM MC.
For example, I spent $60 filling up the van at Canadian Tire. Using my CT MC I got $0.90 in CT$. Now if I had of used my SDM card how many points would I have gotten? I think it is 300 right? 5 points per dollar? So how much does that equate to at SDM in terms of redemption????
Just trying to figure out if it's better to put everythng on SDM rather then the Canadian Tire card!Is it baseball season yet?

I think the CT card would be better.CT wouldn't grab the CT money back.

hi!
I don't have the SDM MC, but I can help you with the math end, assuming your 5 points per dollar figure is correct.
For regular redemptions, 95000 pts=$170
300 points is 0.0031578947 of 95000 points....expressed another way, you'd need to get about 317 fill ups of $60 of gas to get 95000 points. This means that 300 points is roughly equal to just under $0.54 (0.0031578947 * $170). On a mega redemption day, your same 95000 points are worth $250, so your 300 points work out to almost $0.79 (0.0031578947 * $250).

If you get 5 points per $1 spent, filling your tank for $60 would get you 300 points.
During regular redemption, 800 points is $1
Bonus Redemption, 475-500 points is $1
Annual Mega Redemption, 380-400 points is $1
So, getting $0.90 from Canadian Tire + don't they give you CT money when you use weekly flyer coupon? It seems like a better deal to me. But if you rarely shop at Canadian Tire, and can't use your Canadian Tire money for gas, you have to figure out where that dollar would be more beneficial to you, but Canadian Tire does have the better rewards program.

I think maybe the CT one is a better deal in this case.

Where did you fill up for gas? If you fill up at a Canadian Tire Gas bar you get a much higher return with Canadian tire. Sometimes as high as 10x. If you fill up at another gas bar it's the usual rate. Also, you can't use ct money to pay for gas. You have to go to CT and buy a gift card and then you can use that.

CT gives you a better rate, but you can go to CT and buy gift card, might be you have a chance to use some of your CT$.

why CT gas stations??? can you go to Esso? if so..then buy the SDM gc for $50 or $100 using your SDM MC (you will get 500 or 1000) and then with that GC buy $50 or $100 in Esso GC..(you won't get points on this transaction) and go to bank and pay your MC so no fees
I do this for my whole family and rack up at least 10,000 points every month...on GC alone
