Why would it cause you to loose points?

with the whole possible "security system issue" that happened in Dec right before the mega redemption and people lost their points (possible from an insider taking and changing account information, or a technical glitch, or for whatever reason it happened) I'm leery of putting my Optimum card # out there at all...

essentially a shorter is just that, something that makes the address appear shorter in the post, in theory to save space, however because you can't see the actual full address use of shorteners can lead to redirection to spam sites or equally undesireable things...

How are people getting the full urls to share? I click on the "tweet" link to get the link to share and copy what would appear on twitter and it's automatically shortened.
