advice on event planning!!!

I would really like to throw an engagement party for my sister but my apartment is way too tiny to have ppl over and I dont have any money to make it into a huge thing. Any advice on what type of venues I could look at the wont cost too much??

check community centre halls i know there rents are cheaper as compare to other places , also check group buys sites for good deals on buffet so in that case you dont need to rent any place

in addition to community centre halls, try local churchs (possibly the one she is being married at??)
or hotels often rent rooms as well.
even some restaurants offer up small rooms to host parties.
