I had the same experience when i went to zellers last night. I went to a farther zellers that has a restaurant so i can have my supper and shop there. Drove like 45 mins and they said u have to spend $50 to get the cpn, I said, no, I shopped at midnight madness b4 and u can get the cpn for whatever amt. of purchase, she said they changed the rule.
So I went to CS and asked, she said the same thing. I said the flyer stated shop during this event and get a cpn for "save $10 wus $50 during dec 3..." She interpreted as shop during this event and get a cpn WUS $50 TONIGHT and save $10 starting dec 3. I said, so when dec 3 comes, u just use this cpn without minimum spending like a $10 GC ??? She said yes. I know she is wrong. And I bet u next time I shop at zellers, when they read the cpn, they would want me to spend another 50 bucks again to save the 10.
Then I went on and eat at the restaurant. Head back to CS again, diff. person, she said no, u get the cpn anyway when u shop tonight. I told her what the other 2 staffs said. She then called the supervisor and got another version, she said I have to spend $50 during MM to get the cpn and then spend another $50 on and after Dec 3 to save the 10. So I called for the manager, explained I drove a long way here and talked to 3 other staffs, each gave me diff. version. He said I could get the cpn for whatever amt. of purchase. Then he announced it on speaker to the staffs says there is no need to spend $50 to get the cpn.
Yet DH went back and get a bag of safe-T-salt again, they refuse to give one to him. Oh, well, I am not likely to spend $100 @ zellers within a week anyway.

Ay! I can't help but laugh... and maybe AT Zellers?! Ah, dare I say, hehe!
But really--they (as a WHOLE) need to get some of their poopies together. *sigh* It's tough stuff on us customers... and yes, I bet on the employees, managers, etc, too! But hey now--I will definetly speak for myself as the customer!
Glad you did get a coupon, tho!
I feel bad for those that should've got one.. but didn't... and know they will spend that $50! Argh!
