I wish "Extreme Couponing" had never gone on the air! It's brought out so much craziness!

The coupon selling thing... I think maybe what needs to happen is manufacturers need to get involved in tracking people down. Stores can't prevent people from taking all the coupons, unless they don't put them out in the first place and I can't see manufacturers wanting that to happen because it defeats the purpose of them sending coupons out.

Everyone that said this was happening before the show is absolutely right! I too don't think the show MADE this happen. I also believe there were people selling coupons long before the show but I think the show put the entire thing into a new light! People are saying, hey I can make money doing this when really this was never the intention! I hope the show tapers off and stops a tiny bit of what it has caused (again not saying it didn't happen before the show) but I myself see a big difference in couponing even in the short time I have been practicing this hobby!
What do you mean you didn't use a coupon??????

I found coupons in my town for the first time ever last week! I spread the word to other local couponers but by the time even one of them managed to get to the store (Metro) about 3 hours after I had been there all the tear pads where practically empty and someone had the nerve to rip the coupons out of the Campbells soup booklets! . I like you have also encountered rude uninformed people in the stores who just don't understand the whole idea behind couponing, it is not a nice feeling but always remind yourself that you coupon so you can get by month to month! and make sure to educate them a little, people don't like what they don't understand.
When it comes to taking tear pads, I have a general rule...I take one for every person in my house hold (Me, DH and our Cat) that is 3 coupons off each tear pad I find. If I go back another week to shop and there are still any left then I will take more, because I have given people ample time to pick them up even then I often will share them with my local group.

I cross border coupon shop a lot. I've only seen a tear pad once and it did have some coupons on it. US couponers have access to weekly inserts that are 3-4 times the size of ours, as well as a lot more printables and direct from company sources (like our call ins).
I have heard about newspaper theft in the States in order to get access to lots of coupons.Kate

Awesome!!!

I have been scouring stores that i normally found coupons and have mostly come up empty as they just clear off the tear pads. Even SDM isn't putting out the beauty and personal care products coupons. And Safeway won't put out the $0.75 off catelli coupons as they know they'll be gone in a heartbeat. it sucks
