Well you would be surprised, my trades are probably 30% with males so far here...

Although I am the typical male lets get in and get what we came for, need to socumb to fiancee and walk isle's as hidden sales sometimes...

I use to walk in and out of stores, within 30 - 60 minutes and got what went for, now since couponing and checking is a 2-3 hour ordeal :p Never understood why females ( mainly household shoppers ) always walked isles and went back a few times and nick picking if good or bad deal 2-3 times in head...now i sorta understand... and am the one holding my fiancee back while shopping :p

Donations? Yes, I've donated before! I also "donate" to gift giving! The best was I got to donate a Dove basket mens/womans for my daughters silent auction to raise money for her playschool and I didnt pay anything for it! (I stack here :))

you, know it's amazing how many men are getting into the couponing, I have two local friends that I turned on to it and their SO's are getting so into it AND it's something to do together and get so much satisfaction out of!

Sorry to hear you were sick Pumpkin - I had a yucky 24 hour bug thurs/fri and it sucked!!

Do you have one (or more) things that you will buy if you don't have a coupon for it - what are your luxury items?

Also - do you do Optimum points? and when Mega Redemption days come do you spend it on stuff you need or treat yourself?

My DH is getting into couponing, mainly because I am making him :lolsign: It is looking like I am going to return to work in a couple months :eek: and he will become a stay at home Dad, so he is going to take over couponing duties. Its amazing how into it he has become, he scours the flyers, sorts and organizes coupons, hunts for deals in store, and for the past bit has been helping my pack up trains (so he learns the ropes, and doesn't make too many mistakes when he starts joining all of you!)

Chocolate and wine are our luxury items, we will buy them without a coupon :)

I do Optimum points, although it is a new thing to me. The last Mega Redemption was my first. I used my redemption to stock up on items I seldom have good coupons for (razor blades mainly!), add to the stock pile, and a few items for Christmas (kids toy & stocking stuffers). I think the plan will be the same this year.

My hubby is starting to get the couponing thing... last week, we were out shooting pool and somebody said... I had to pay $______ for _______ and my hubby said "Oh-no.... that is not allowed. Nuh-uh. No way. Hun, can you give him a coupon?" LOL!!!! I fell in love all over :)

Now he will get into bed on Thursday night (my match coupons to flyer night) and he will say "This is a great price... right?" OR "This isn't a sale... why is it in the flyer?"

As for items without coupons.... lets see:
Mostly Meat... Does anyone have any pork roast coupons???!?
Perfume/Cologne
And because there isn't a current coupon.. I will be buying Heinz beans soon. Only 5 cans left in the stockpile. I hate em.... hubby loves em.

I have an Optimum Card but I honestly am not a fan of Shoppers. I prefer Rexall. Shoppers always seems to be "out of sale item stock" at 7am. Whatever ;)

I LOVE my airmiles and I get those at Rexall... but come 2016... no more airmiles. Ugh. Sad. Sad. Sad.

what? no airmiles at all or just at Rexall? i've been able drag my kids across the country a few times on my air miles master card.

Luxury items : Elizabeth grant skin care products (although at Christmas they had a wicked promo $1500 dollars worth of products for $150. Guess what I got as a gift for Christmas lol.

Luxury Item number two: I agree with Pumpkin is definitely Meat although I do wait for sales and then stock up.

Shoppers Optimum yes have a card. I haven't really taken full advantage of their promos but, it amazes me how many points people collect! I find it hard to find items that I really need at a decent price when they have their promos or perhaps I am not looking closely enough

Luxury Items: Steak, Chinesse Food, Walnuts as a snack and BEER/Liquor

No Optimal points card, our cards where wiped 3 times when lived in Montreal so said screw it and never again....

I never used them to fly, but I cash ours in twice per year..... Christmas time... ALL Metro GC..... feels great to not buy Christmas dinner and all the other stuff... snacks... this kind of mix(err... I mean drink)....chips....chocolate.... blah.. blah...

And, in the summer.... again.... Metro..... for our camping trips. Again... pay zero on groceries= cheap camping. We bring our tent trailer for 7 days at a time....

But, I did do something CRAZY last month... cashed in our airmiles for $120 in Shell Gas Cards :) Gas to and from London = "almost" free :)

I should explain: There will still be airmiles BUT they will have an expiry date.... limits on when/what/how to use them in 2016.

I'm annoyed. What I loved about this program is you COULD save for 15 years to go on your dream vacation....

IF YOU DONT use your current airmile by 2016... they are simply GONE. :(


And, yes folks... I know that 5 years is a long time to use em..... but not if you were planning your dream vacation in 2018.

I do have an optimum card, but I am not very knowledgeable on earning and redeeming. I don't find a lot I want to buy there:(

Thats my thing too. We don't have a big SDM.... no grocery section like some of the stores... and I find most if not all of their prices higher... might only be be .10.... but still higher.

Oh, and I am super lucky. We are a boarder town, so a 10 minute drive over the bridge and I am in Michigan. Cant pick up a 12 pack(nothing larger) anytime I go over.

Price of 12 BudLight = $10.95 :)

If I stay over night I can bring back a bottle or full case... no duty :)

I agree, for the most part their prices are higher. I love the optimum points, however I only collect them on sale items, or things like milk and bread (where they are the same price as anywhere else in town). I also love that I can collect points on prescriptions (not on the Rx itself, but on the GC I buy to pay for the Rx)...with my grandpa in the house his Rx points really add up :)

I do the same with airmiles, we redeem a couple times a year. Usually once around Christmas and once in the summer :)
