Would you pay $5 or less with a credit card at a supermarket?

I try to use the hard piece of money accumulate in my pocket when I have less than 5$ to pay... You could be surprise how many money we could accumulate in our pocket!

Often I have more than 20$ in little piece!

If I'm at Loblaw's, Maxi or Provigo, I would pay with my PC Mastercard and get the points for my purchases and for bringing my own bag. If were to complain, I have prepared a speech about how these stores harassed me to get the card, so damn right I'm gonna use it whenever I can! (no one has ever complained).

If I'm at another store, I would most likely use cash, provided I had it on me. I have in the past purchased things I didn't need so that my total would be a bit higher and I could pay by credit card without feeling guilty.

I always pay small amounts with cash. Usually stores also have a lower limit to which you can apply a credit card as well. DH annoys me, he only carries around pennies and plastic LOL.

I am not a credit or debit card kind of person. I like cash, so yes, cash it is for me.

That's the exactly the why of my question. I don't know if it might seem greedy to pay $3 dollars with a cc, as it has happened to me, to get 30 points and $0.01 cents per bag. It could just be a silly prejudice of my own.

For Cher montreal, I would say yes. If you apply before March 31, they will give you 40 000 points plus 5 000 if you apply online (that's $45). What I find the most appealing of this cc is that once you accumulate 20 000, you can redeem them at any participating store. The return rate of this card is 1%--you spend $2000 to get $20--so you might take this feature as a cash back.

Oh yes! it worth it. But, you must pay in full your account each month, otherwise this (interest) will cost you more then what you get. Me, I put all my bills on this (cell phone, cable, insurance, etc). That way, I "earn" points and keep a trackback of all my transaction.

Yes i would and i do. It's pretty much the same as everyones mentioned above. As long as you use it responsibly i don't see why not. I have a cash-back card and leave my cash for places that don't accept cc(i.e.dollar store).

Totally agree with Dadsaver, You and Me and Cocoa. I don't remember last time I take my debit card as I don't remember when I pay "cash". A lot easier for me...
I still need a big wallet to keep the bills from purchase (I empty it every night).
