If we may believe the recent news, Michaels will open seven stores in the Montreal area soon.
Will there be quality products at lower cost?

This is great news, though I find the ones in Ont have same/similar products, the stuff is still cheaper when you cross the border. CAD prices though are usually still better than Omer Deserre, so i'll be interesting to see what happens...

Is this the same Michael's chain we have in the US? Canada is starting to look like it's neighbor with all these US stores Target, J Crew, Anthropologie, Victoria's Secret...Canada is the new frontier, no money left to be made in the US

The quality of the stuff is good, not dollarama type stuff. Omer Deserre is really expensive in comparison. So for arts/crafts, it's great! They often have weekly coupons too, 40% off reg. price item, 25% off entire purchase...etc.
The states has a loyalty program, but it doesn't seem to be offered in Canada yet.
