We grow our own corn in the summer and I just freeze raw. We take off the outer leaves and most silk but keep some leaves on the cob and just freeze raw in bags. If we eat 'loose' corn, I just take a few cobs out of the freezer, let them thaw a bit and then cut the corn off and then cook a bit.
I've tried blanching but like raw much better....
