True Grit
It was an OK movie. If you hadn't seen the original then it was a good movie. Personally I think Josh Brolin and Bridges should have switched roles and the Brolin character was, the only way I can say it, was lacking. Otherwise it couldn't hold a candle to the original. It had some good humourous moments but that was all that this movie had over the original.Last edited by 6ffightr9; Wed, Dec 15th, 2010 at 12:27 AM.

ALL I NEED TO KNOW
I LEARNED FROM A SNOWMAN
** It's okay if you're a little bottom heavy.
** Hold your ground, even when the heat is on.
** Wearing white is always appropriate.
** It takes a few extra rolls to make a good midsection.
** There's nothing better than a foul weather friend.
** We're all made up of mostly water.
** Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize!
** Avoid yellow snow. Don't get too much sun.
** It's embarrassing when you can't look down and see your feet.
** There's no stopping you once you're on a roll.
** It's not the size of the carrot, but the placement that counts.

Only in Canada, you say?
Just in case you'll ever find yourself helping someone.........................
Frozen Carburetor
In the fun world of the administration of justice, not all the laughs are in the court-room. Indeed, giggles and guffaws can erupt at almost any time or place. For example: On a bitterly cold winter's day several years ago in northern British Columbia, a RCMP constable on patrol came across a motorcyclist, who was swathed in protective clothing and helmet, stalled by the roadside.
"What's the matter?" asked the policeman.
"Carburetor's frozen," was the terse reply.
"Pee on it. That'll thaw it out," said the constable.
"Can't," replied the motorcyclist.
"OK, Watch me and I will show you."
The constable demonstrated by lubricating the carburetor, as promised. The bike started and the rider drove off, waving.
A few days later, the detachment office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorbike rider.
It began: "On behalf of my daughter, who recently was stranded ....."

Hookers Union
A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, "Is this a union house?"
"No,'"she replied, "I'm sorry it isn't."
"Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?"
"The house gets $80 and the girls get $20,'"she answered.
Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, "Why yes sir, this is a union house. We observe all union rules."
The man asked, "And, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?"
"The girls get $80 and the house gets $20."
"That's more like it!" the union man said.
He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive green-eyed blonde.
"I'd like her," he said.
"I'm sure you would, sir," said the Madam. Then she gestured to a 92-year-old woman in the corner. "But Ethel here has 67 years seniority, and according to union rules, she's next up."

NOW you know what's wrong with the AUTO industry.

I guess I wasn't the only one not impressed by True Grit. It was expected to get a load of Golden Globe nominations but got none. Zippo. Nada. Nien.
