Hey I have a question about netfile. Once you file doesn't it only take a few moments for your return to show up in your account. I used ufile and I got a confirmation number and it shows accepted and says the return was successfully transmitted to cra. That was 9am and by 10.30am it still shows return not received in my account.
I think it takes a business day to show up on CRA
Yeah they say it can take 48 hours but usually it has shown up in my cra account within minutes. Not panicking lol but was just unusual for me compared to past years.
Thanks for the info. :)
Yes, usually its instant.
But it being the first day for Netfile & also March 1,2018 being the deadline for RRSP , things might be a bit back logged at CRA & there could be glitches/overload in the system .
Also this year they seem to have opened NETFILE at least 10 days late on Feb 26, so there could be more people filing on the first day.
I think last year it was opened around Feb 15 , so it was more spread out and more days to file.
Maybe the Toll Free number gives a received status and Online - My Account its yet to be updated.
Ya I imagine all the Income Tax Preparers that offered early refunds all submitted today as well.
I agree The later start date this year allowed more people to get their T4's to file the first day.
Plus someone told me that ever since they moved everything to one combined site like www.canada.ca , things are a bit screwed,
Earlier each site was different - CRA was www.cra.gc.ca , Service Canada etc was also a different site.
Now everything EI , OAS, CPP, CRA Taxes, Benefits, Immigration, Travel etc etc are under one roof www.canada.ca
Apparently they have Express NOA this year. Don't remember seeing it last year
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-age...press-noa.html
You will get an instant NOA after you file your taxes ( assuming everything is proper/goes smoothly ) , and that Express NOA will be downloaded into your system.
So no need to wait 10-15 days for the NOA to appear online or in your mail after you file your taxes.
The date your NOA is available for viewing that's also going to be your date when the refund will be Directly Deposited.
So if you get a message like " Your Notice of Assessment will be available to view on March 10, 2018. " after you log into " My Account " , then March 10, 2018 is also the date on which your tax refund will be directly deposited into your bank account :)
Checked this morning and my return was assessed for March 8th. Yeah and my aunt says I worry too much which is probably right haha. ;)
Oh yeah thanks, usually for me it has been that day or sometimes the next day. When I filed my return I told my aunt I would have money I owed her March 9th (Yeah I was hoping lol).
