Do the coupons come in a certain paper? We only get the weekend edition (Friday, Saturday & Monday). I never seem to get coupons though. This week we got a few, but they were all pet food ones. My husband thinks maybe the Wednesday paper is the one with all the good coupons....just wondering if it would be worth my while to subscribe to the paper all week long?

I went to WalMart on Upper james last month and they had the hamilton Spec there with a booth to get people to buy subscriptions. I was thinking about buying one anyways for the flyers and coupons, and I ended up buying a 6 month subscription -They were also offering $50 WM GC for the purchase!

But after having it for the month, I ended up gifting it to a friend for a Christmas present. (I told her to save me the inserts tho lol!) I do NOT think it is worth paying for the few select dates the coupons come.
i would recommend doing what I am planning on doing- and that is checking on here for all the insert dates and buying papers on those days. (Or head to a Mcdonalds early in the am to snag the inserts from them for free!) but, thats just me, and I am sure I may miss some, but they wouldnt save me the amount of money I am going to save on papers I am not going to need.
Hope that helps a bit
Coupon savings since Jan 1st 2011- $982.46

My mom subscribes to the spec. She usually gets the coupon inserts in the Saturday edition. I dont subscribe, and when I know an insert is due out, I cant find it in any paper at the newsstand anymore.

I can't really remember...the paper dates were shifted because of the holiday. I believe it was the Saturday paper which actually came on Friday this week.

I've never even heard of this red plum thing???? Ugh...you know what...my Mountain News guy is a lazy you-know-what and he doesn't even bring my flyers most weeks. Totally unreliable. I have been driving around the corner to take my cousin's flyers.

I don't get red plum with my free papers, just the ones I have subscribed to (Globe & Mail, Spec, National Post etc)
