I remember Sky King......yikes, shows my age I guess.
Weather forecast looks pretty grim. This has been a really poor summer season with the rain. Now it seems fall is going to be more of the same, but colder and windy.
Not good for golfers.

Reading the preceding pages has my TV nostalgia soaring,
Cause most of the stuff that’s on today is trashy & quite boring,
Contrived & scripted reality shows are ones I really hate,
& mention without honour goes to Jon & Kate Plus Eight,
Late night TV also has been steadily declining,
I’ll bet Jay Leno wishes that his cloud has a silver lining,
David Letterman tsk tsk tsk is now in damage control,
& this time it won’t be an intern that can help him to console,
The good old days of TV when we just sought entertainment,
Now it seems so many stars are in the midst of an arraignment,
Marcus Welby MD would never have behaved with such reprehension,
Maybe a new show could be born out of this for all those seeking redemption,
Bewitched was simple, cute & fun & made you wish it could be so,
To this day it remains up there as my all time favourite show,
Bobby Sherman I thought was dreamy & I loved him very much,
& I can’t remember who was hunkier was it Starsky or was it Hutch?
The Streets of San Francisco & of course The FBI,
& Sally Fields was the nun who flew off in the sky!
Let’s Make A Deal was the very first show that I saw on a colour TV,
When my family finally got one, I was happy as could be,
Before remotes & satellite dishes & long before VCR’s
Before Idol & Survivor & Dancing With The Stars,
Times committed to our memories that we should always keep on file,
Cause it’s good to go to rewind & remember with a smile!

Well if you really want to talk nostalgia, what about Howdy & Doody or Pocky & Gumby. Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Just got back from NS, spent way too much on seafood while I was there. (Well worth it)
Now I have to try to catch up on a weeks worth of points. I know I won't get the whole week.
Unfortunately my boss thinks that catching up on my work that I get paid for is more important. I didn't have the heart (or gazombies) to tell her what I thought of that. (and I wanted to ensure that I would still have a job)

Here's a bit of TV trivia irony for you...
Priscilla Barnes, who played Terri on Three's Company, played the sheriff in the pilot episode of She's the Sheriff, but was replaced when the series was picked up. Her replacement? Suzanne Sommers, who she had replaced on Three's Company. What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?
They both look good until they hit the ice.

Whereabouts in Nova Scotia? My mom was from Glace Bay, up on Cape Breton We used to spend a few weeks there every summer. As a kid, I was bored silly with nothing to do (no cable, no phone, no nothin'). But MAN, what I would give for that kind of escape from the city right about now...What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?

It was all in HRM so there was hi speed internet and plumbing (indoor even).
It was not an escape exactly. I was pretty much thrown back into the family drama with no noticeable break. Drive kids here, pick up other family members there, make sure I see this person ar at least call this other person. I was gone a week but it seemed like only a couple of days.
I may live here but NS will always be home.
