Watch that one! I work in the school system and I can tell you there are a few really angry, mixed up kids out there. Who don't seem to know how to deal with their anger, frustration, loneliness.
Does the school know the situation? Ask them if the kid has emotional issues. At any rate tell them you would like him watched and to be informed of any untoward interaction between him and anyone else. They have to keep you informed at that point or they are liable in case of an incident.
He's probably just a kid who's in a less than perfect household and can't express himself well. 99.999% are just boys being boys.

Yes the school knows about it. In fact it was the principal that called yesterday to let me know that it was happening again. What I've observed of this child is that he angers easily and over-reacts. If someone accidently steps on his toes he will assume that it was done on purpose and go into a blind rage of hitting. When I spoke to the teacher before, she made reference to problems at home but of course couldn't go into the details.

OK. I don't know if I'm going to get in trouble or not but I talked directly to an 8 year old boy who's in my daughter's class at lunch time. Yesterday was the second time since Christmas that he's threatened to kill my daughter. (the first time I was totally irate when I heard he wanted to take out all four of us). The little twerp couldn't even look me in the eye. I didn't even mention what was said buy my approach was "I would like to help. If my daughter is doing anything that bugs you, let me know. I can tell her to stop." he said "she looks at me with a angry face". That's all he could come up with? I don't know what to think. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Speak to a teacher. If a teacher won't help, go to the principal.

Schools are SUPPOSED to be taking a zero-tolerance stance in matters such as this. It may SEEM like a harmless schoolyard idle threat. But if it isn't handled, this is how bullies are bred. This needs to be nipped in the bud, ASAP.

I understand, boy's will by boy's, but death threats coming from an 8 yr old?/?? There is something seriously wrong here. If that was my little girl he was threatening to kill (along with her family) I don't think I'd be so calm about it. This is serious situation that should be dealt with before, rather than too late.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm a bad person but stuff like that really gets to me.
