The British popstar Boy George has been sentenced to prison for 15 months for holding a male prostitute in his house against his will. The 47-year-old former lead singer of Culture Club used handcuffs to restrain the Norwegian man and hit him with a chain when he tried to escape. Eventually the 29-year-old man managed to get away.

Boy George's lawyers say the conflict was about photographs the victim had stolen from the singer's computer. The prostitute said Boy George was angry because he did not want to have sex with the popstar. Boy George's real name is George O'Dowd.
